Lulu is doing great in her foster home!  Her fur is completely grown in and her coat is now soft and shiny.  She doesn't love her medicated oatmeal baths, but tolerates them.  Overall, Lulu is very healthy.  She should remain on a limited ingredient food.

Lulu is attached to her foster mom's side.  She does well with other dogs and recently enjoyed playing with a 6 month old German Shepherd.  Lulu is doing much better with housebreaking.  She is leash trained, non-reactive to other dogs, and crate trained (although she is now left out of the crate all day and does well).  Lulu is very nurturing to her foster brother, a male boxer.

Lulu is still working on her manners.  She gets very excited when her foster mom gets home.  Lulu needs a strong leader who will set boundaries and be consistent.

Lulu has made huge improvements over the last three months.  She is truly a wonderful, loving, fun, protective, loyal, and happy boxer girl that will make the right family very happy.  She will definitely bring laughter into your life!

Lulu has now been spayed and she is ready for her forever home.  This adorable girl is full of energy and loves going for walks.  She gets along great with her foster brother, a male boxer.  Lulu really enjoys snuggling with her foster mom and being close to her.  If you are interested in providing a forever home for Lulu, apply today!

2/24/16

Lulu is doing well in her foster home.  She is making a lot of improvements with her housetraining and is responding to a schedule.  Lulu has met several other dogs and has gotten along well with them.

Lulu's skin continues to be monitored by our vet.  She has suffered years of neglect, so it is taking time to heal.  At one point in her past, Lulu's front leg had been injured and left untreated.  On medication, Lulu is now able to run and play without any issues.

Lulu is a great dog and would do really well in a home where she can be the center of attention.  We will continue to keep her page updated with her progress.

1/19/16

Lulu visited our rescue vet and has been placed on antibiotics and steroids to help her skin heal.  She is also getting medicated baths.  Lulu is learning the routines at her new home and loves to be close to her foster mom.  She would do best in a home with a male dog.  Lulu is getting along with her new foster brother, a male boxer.  Our vet will be checking her progress in two weeks!

1/14/16

Lulu was transported to rescue today.  She has the best snaggle tooth and an adorable face.  Lulu is missing a lot of hair and her skin is in bad shape.  She will be visiting our vet in the morning to discuss her treatment.  We will continue to update her page as Lulu gets settled into her new foster home.

1/10/16 -

Lulu and Yukon were seized from their owner due to neglect.  They are both very thin and Lulu is missing a lot of hair.  They were taken immediately to be seen by a vet.  Lulu has been dewormed and has started medication for her skin.  She does have an old injury to her front leg and occasionally limps on it.  Lulu's temporary foster home indicates that she is eating well and is very sweet.  She will be transported soon to Maryland.  We will update Lulu's page with more pictures and information once she arrives in rescue and gets settled in at her foster home.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 3 months to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Not every home is the right match for a boxer, and matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us at your home visit of other dogs you are interested...  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
