|New Website Launch! Nov 15 2016|
11/15/2016 - This is
it... We've known for quite a while that the old website (vintage 2004)
needed redoing. Take a look around our new site and please use our new
Search Function on the
Available Dogs page to help you find potential new family members.
Please remember that there are others also looking for the perfect match, and there is only one family for any dog on the website. Please be open to your Foster Advocates suggestions and recommendations. And thank you for not going to a pet shop and instead adopting a rescued boxer in need of a home.

Adopting a Boxer - Application Procedure
Thank you for your interest in adopting a Boxer from
AABR. The volunteers of AABR have successfully placed thousands of Boxers in permanent, loving new homes.
We work only within Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New
Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, northern Virginia, Washington DC and
Rhode Island. All applications are subject to the availability of
volunteers in your area, and applications submitted from bordering states may be
considered depending on the availability of volunteers near your home.
If you are within our area of operation please continue. If you are not, PLEASE DO A WEB SEARCH ON "BOXER RESCUE IN YOUR STATE" and apply to a rescue to help a dog near you.
Also... we get so many emails each day, it is impossible to keep up with them all. We risk not saving dogs lives and not placing them in good home, every time we stop to answer your emails. We have only so much time to donate to rescue and that time must be used to save dogs, get them to vets, help them with stress and training, review apps, do home visits, and place dogs. Please allow at least a month to be contacted, before emailing us for status. And that's not half the jobs. And please don't email us additional info, unless we've asked you for it. Especially don't add dogs to your list... Hopefully most of the dogs you want will be gone by the time your app is reviewed. And if you feel you must email us about the application process, please put in the subject line your city and state so we can direct your email to the applicable volunteer.

AABR covers an area throughout the Northeast USA. You can decide how far you are willing to travel to meet an available dog, but the states currently included in our program are: Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, northern Virginia, Washington DC and Rhode Island.
Yes you are excited to have decided to add a boxer to your home. Please take this time to read some of the training articles on our site, puppy/dog proof your home, socialize your children with friend's pets, and socialize any current pets with other animals if not already done so.
And please allow us at least a week or so before requesting status. These status requests take us away from reviewing your Applications and matching you with dogs.
And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved. Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, you can advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com , or better still, let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home. That is what we are good at. And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.
We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
Until you tell us otherwise, we will continue to review your application for possible matches with dogs coming into rescue. However, we encourage you to return to our site frequently to view new additions to the available dogs list. We ask that you notify us if you adopt a dog from another source so we can remove your application from our active file.
3. Arrange for a home-visit.
4. Finding the right boxer.
On average, it takes between a week and 1 month for an approved applicant to adopt a Rescue Boxer, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility. For example; If you are looking for a young female, who is good with other dogs, cats, and small kids, please know that yours may be a harder application to fill. Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.
5. Getting your boxer.
6. Sign an adoption contract.
7. There is an adoption fee of $400 for most adult boxers. Higher fees may apply for puppies, and lower fees for mixes and seniors. (Rev 08/01/14) This donation helps to defer the cost of veterinary care that AABR provides the dogs, such as neutering, vaccinations, and medical treatments as needed.
9. Live happily ever after.
If, for some reason, the placement is not working out, Adopt A Boxer Rescue will accept the dog's return to our rescue program. We ask you to work with us in returning the dog to rescue, and we try our best, but not all matches work out. If that is the case, we will try to find you a rescue dog better suited to your family.
If you have any questions, please contact us at info@AdoptABoxerRescue.com
Forgive us if there is sometimes a delay in getting back to your inquiries. We are all volunteers doing our best to meet the demands of our own lives, families and jobs, in addition to helping these dogs. If you feel that your email or application has been overlooked, it is quite possible that email or server problems deleted it accidentally. Try again!
Thank you for your interest in Boxer rescue.
