Looking for a home with older children - 8 or older

5/15/16

Bea enjoyed the canoe races this past weekend and is doing well in foster.  She is still looking for a forever home with a male dog and a fenced yard.  Bea also needs a home without young children.

4/12/16

Bea's forever home should have another young dog to play with, as our vet feels she may be younger than 4 yrs.  Bea would also do best with a fenced yard and no small children.  She is too nervous around children and still does get into things.  If you have the perfect home for Bea, apply today!

3/20/16

Bea is still looking for the perfect home.  She needs a home without small children because she will sometimes eat things out of stress.  Bea is getting better with this.  She is such a great boxer girl, but will just need some special management.  Bea loves the car, going for walks. and playing with the younger dogs at her foster home.  She is so sweet and has made a lot of progress.  Bea will need a forever home with another dog and a fenced yard.

2/17/16

At 4 years old, Bea is just learning what it is like to be a dog.  Like a puppy, she explores her environment and needs to taste everything to figure out what it is.  She does need to be watched closely (so she doesn't eat those non-edible finds), but should outgrow this as she becomes more familiar with indoor life.  Bea loves her canine and human friends, and is going to be a wonderful companion when her new family come along.

2/08/16

Bea is like a big puppy who is experiencing all the new experiences in a home!  She is still looking for a forever family with a male dog and a fenced yard.  If you are interested in adopting this beautiful girl, apply today!

1/25/16

Bea is coming out of her shell.  She loves every dog that she has met.  Bea is housebroken and doing well on leash.  She enjoys getting her coat on and going for a ride in the car.  Bea is such a sweet and loving girl - she deserves the best home!  If you have a fenced yard and a male dog, please consider adopting Bea!

1/14/16

Bea is doing great in her foster home.  She needs a male dog and a fenced yard.  Bea is learning how to play with other dogs.  She is housebroken and enjoys going for car rides.  Bea has been brought up to date on all vet care and is ready for her forever home!

1/10/16 -

Bea was surrendered to AABR from a puppy mill.  She has been brought up to date on all vet care.  Bea was spayed, given her vaccines, and microchipped.  She has arrived at her foster home and is so happy to be warm and comfortable for the first time in her life.  Bea is doing well on leash and enjoys the car.  She is as quiet as a mouse.  Bea is looking for a home with a fenced yard and a male dog.  If you are interested in adopting Bea, apply today!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 3 months to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Not every home is the right match for a boxer, and matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us at your home visit of other dogs you are interested...  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
