Chinook has settled in well at his foster home.  Shortly after his arrival back in rescue, he developed an abscess on his neck.  After treatment with antibiotics, it has already improved significantly.  Chinook will be going for a recheck ultrasound next week.  Please consider donating towards this cost so we can get him cleared soon for adoption.

Chinook's forever home will need to have at least one other dog.  He would do best with a fenced yard.  Chinook loves children and even did well with his cat test at his temp foster placement.  As soon as he has fully recovered, Chinook will be ready to move to his new home.  He is a well socialized boy and will be a great addition to a lucky family!

9/12/16

Chinook is being returned to rescue because his family is relocating to the Midwest and their housing situation will not allow three dogs.  Chinook is an adorable and loveable boy with a lot of puppy energy.  He is looking for a home with a fenced yard to run and play in.  Chinook loves other dogs and plays well at the dog park.  He enjoys being outside and gets along great with children.  Chinook just arrived at his new foster home and is settling in well.

Chinook continues to do wonderful in foster!  He has free run for the entire work day with no problems.  Chinook is housebroken and walks well on leash.  He loves going to the dog park to play.  Chinook would do best in a home with a fenced yard where he can run and play daily!  He loves to cuddle and travels great in the car.  If you are looking for a wonderful boy with a great disposition, then get your application in soon for Chinook!

11/18/15

Chinook is settling in great at his new foster home.  He is friendly with new people and walks well on leash.  Chinook has free run during the work day and relaxes on the couch.  He is housebroken and knows his basic commands.  Chinook is a well behaved boxer boy who is going to be a wonderful addition to a family!

11/12/15 -

Chinook was found as a stray and is estimated to be around 2-3 yrs of age.  He is very thin and is currently recovering from kennel cough at the shelter.  Chinook will be arriving at his new foster home this weekend.  The volunteers at the shelter describe him as a silly boxer boy who seems to do well around other dogs.  We will update his page with better photos and more information after his transport!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 3 months to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Not every home is the right match for a boxer, and matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us at your home visit of other dogs you are interested...  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
