Cody is doing well in his foster home.  He thinks he is a lap dog and absolutely loves human company!  Cody does also play well with his foster sister, a female boxer.  He walks perfectly on leash.  Overall, Cody is a great dog who is still looking for a forever home where somebody is there often for him.

11/27/15

Cody has been getting along well with his foster sister, a female boxer.  What he loves most, though, is being with his people.  Cody makes himself comfortable on the couch or sometimes on the bed.  He is quite the cuddler!  Cody usually wants his head rested on his foster mom or dad.  He has also done very well with the children in his foster home.  If you are interested in adopting this wonderful boy, apply today for Cody!

10/20/15

Cody just arrived at his new foster home, where he is now living with a female boxer and a child.  His foster mom reports that he is a very sweet boy.  Cody immediately nuzzled his head into the ten year old child's lap and then went to snuggle with his foster dad.  He has a great disposition.  We will update Cody's page as he gets settled in at his new foster home.

It has been a month and Cody is still looking for his hero.  His behavior is deteriorating in the boarding kennel and he has been losing weight.  We are urgently looking for a foster home for Cody that can help him become comfortable being left alone.  In his previous foster home, he was up to five hours without problems.  Cody would do best in a home with another dog.  He has an amazing temperament and deserves to be back in a home environment soon.  If you can provide a foster or forever home for Cody, apply today.  Please offer to give this great boy a chance!

8/31/15

Cody's foster family made the very difficult decision to take him to our boarding kennel.  Cody is in need of a new foster placement with somebody that is home more often during the day.  He would do best with another dog in the home.  Cody walks great on leash and does really well going to new places.  He is a wonderful dog and really needs to get out of the kennel soon and back into a home environment.  Apply today if you can help Cody!

8/03/15

Cody's current foster home is gone during the day and they feel that Cody would do much better in a placement where somebody is home more often with him.  Cody also needs to go to a home with a resident dog to help him feel more secure and a fenced yard.

We received great news from our vet.  The cyst that was removed was completely benign and it has healed up nicely.  Cody is going to make a wonderful addition to a lucky family.  He does great with other dogs and adores children.  Cody is very well mannered and walks well on leash.  He can be more timid with men, but his foster family has been working on his socialization and Cody has been showing great improvements.  After just a few minutes, he warms up and just wants to sit on your lap.  He gets along very well with his foster sister, a female boxer.  Everybody that has met Cody has just fallen in love with him.  Apply today if you are interested in fostering or adopting Cody!

7/06/15

Cody has visited our vet and had surgery to remove the infected cyst on his shoulder.  He should be feeling much better once this heals and when his stitches are removed in two weeks.  Cody is beginning to relax and settle in at his foster home.  He is doing great with his foster sister, a female boxer.  This boy is going to be a wonderful addition to a lucky family!

6/27/15

Cody did wonderful on the transport today and has arrived at his temporary foster home.  He is a really sweet boy who traveled well in the car.  Cody has an easygoing disposition and was very friendly with each new person that he met today.  Cody's cyst on his neck is infected and will be removed soon at our vet's office.  We will update his page as we learn more about him.  Apply today to foster or adopt Cody!

6/23/15 -

Cody is being surrendered to rescue, along with Tucker and Abby.  The owners report they would do best in a home without farm animals.  Cody currently lives with five other dogs and gets along well with them.  He is wonderful with children and would love to be in a new home with them.  He was initially a court case from the shelter.  He was very emaciated and his previous owners did not know if he would make it through the night.  Cody has gained a lot of weight and looks wonderful now.  Cody is reported to be crate trained and housebroken.  He will be transported into rescue this weekend and is still in need of a foster home.  Apply today if you are interested in fostering or adopting Cody!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 3 months to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Not every home is the right match for a boxer, and matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us at your home visit of other dogs you are interested...  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
