Boscoe's prostatic cyst did not reduce after neutering and surgery had to be
performed to remove it. What originally was thought to be a routine
procedure turned into a three hour surgery! Poor Boscoe...
Boscoe is recovering now but is being watched closely for complications.
Although his surgery costs were greatly reduced by
his wonderful veterinary specialist (a board certified surgeon), and by the Meadow Veterinary Hospital
in White Plains, NY (they donated their services), Boscoe's surgery cost AABR nearly $1000!

Boscoe was neutered this week. When his male hormones leave his body
and no more will be produced his cyst will start to shrink. This is one of
the medical reasons to alter your male dog. Boscoe is recovering and is
doing well in his foster home..

Boscoe

Boscoe was originally thought to be 8 to 9 yrs
old. After his medical exam, the vets think he is more like 6 yrs old.
He was emaciated when he came into rescue from the NYC Cacc. His exam
revealed a large growth that was further investigated by an ultrasound.
Luckily, it turns out to be a prostatic cyst, about the size of a
grapefruit, one of the many problems seen in older un-neutered males.
There are a number of procedures being
considered, and he will have surgery next week. All this costs money,
but it is what we do for the dogs.

Boscoe
Boscoe is a fawn male, between 8 and 9 years old.
He is very skinny, and we have little info on him.
His foster mom reports that he is very playful, loves everyone he meets,
and very obedient. The shelter didn't think he was good with other dogs, but
we have yet to test it.
Bosco is well behaved and housebroken.
