4/27/15 - HAPPY BEGINNING!

Francis (now Lilly) has found her forever home.  Our family is in love with her.  She is such a sweet girl and is very loving.  Lilly follows her family around the house and always likes to be right where they are.  She is very well behaved in the home.  Lilly loves to play in her backyard.  Her favorite activity is playing (or destroying) old soccer balls!

Lilly does have separation anxiety, which is very understandable.  She is doing so much better now that she gets her favorite treat in her crate while Mommy is at work, which is peanut butter in a Kong.  She even has her own Instagram page, lillytheboxergirl.  Everyone can check for her updates - she loves the camera!

3/07/15

Francis has arrived at her new foster home and is adjusting well.  She is very playful and is wonderful with the children.  Francis sleeps in bed at night and is doing great when her foster parents are at work.  If you are interested in giving Francis a forever home, apply today for this beautiful girl!

2/16/15

Francis is still in urgent need of a foster home.  She would prefer to be the only animal in her home.  Francis would do best in a home with a fenced yard where she doesn't have to be leash walked around other dogs.  She would also love to have somebody home with her frequently.  If you can help this sweet and loving girl, please offer to provide a foster home!

2/03/15

Francis is being returned to rescue and is in urgent need of a foster home.  Francis does not eat when placed in boarding, so a kennel is not an option for her.  Francis is very reactive to other dogs on leash, so would do best in a home with a fenced yard where she doesn't have to be leash walked around other dogs.  Her current home reports that Francis is very sweet and loving.  She would love nothing more than to crawl in your lap and snuggle with you.  Francis is used to having somebody home with her often.  We only have a couple weeks to find a new placement for Francis.  Please open up your heart to this beautiful girl.  Let us know if you have a home that would be a good match for Francis!

11/08/14

Francis is still looking for a foster home.  She is very stressed at the kennel and is not eating well there.  Francis is a dominant girl and needs a home where can be the only dog or the top dog.  She does not do well with young dogs who are in her face.  Francis was in a previous foster home with two male dogs, and did great (they let her take charge).  Francis would love to be placed in a home with children, as she previously lived with a child and adores children of all ages.  Please help us get Francis out of the kennel and back into a home environment.  Apply today to foster or adopt this beautiful girl!

10/21/14

Francis is currently at our kennel and is in urgent need of a foster home.  She would do best in a home with a submissive male dog that will allow her to take the alpha role, or in a home as an only dog.  Francis absolutely loves children and would love to be around them in her new home.  She would do best in a home without cats.  Francis is very sweet and loves to be where her people are at.  If you are interested in fostering or adopting this girl, apply today!

10/03/14

Francis is settling in well at her foster home.  Unfortunately, she picked up kennel cough while at the shelter.  With each day, she is feeling better and more of her personality is coming through.  Francis loves to snuggle and is a very sweet girl.  She has quickly established herself as the dominant dog in the home with her two foster brothers.  Francis is not doing well with the cat, so should go into a home without them at this time.

9/27/14 -

Francis was surrendered to the shelter when her owners moved without her.  She is an easygoing girl who is unsure why her owners left her behind.  Her previous owners report that Francis loves children and meeting other dogs.  When evaluated at the shelter with another dog, Francis was calm and appropriate. She will be arriving at her new foster home soon.  We will update her page once her foster family gets to know Francis better.

Prior to adoption:

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 3 months to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Not every home is the right match for a boxer, and matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us at your home visit of other dogs you are interested...  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
