Caesar is now able to remain in his current foster home, but would love to find a perfect forever home of his own.  He is kept in a confined space when left alone, which he is doing well with.  Caesar does like to chew on things, so the area must be puppy proofed.  He is a very loveable boy and sleeps with his foster parents at night.  Caesar is an energetic boy, so needs room to run.  Although he is now comfortable with his foster dad, Caesar is still apprehensive with new men.  He needs a patient home willing to continue to work with him.  If you are interested in adopting Caesar, apply today for this handsome boy!

1/04/15

Caesar is a wonderful young boy who really needs room to run and an active companion.  Through no fault of his, Caesar will need a new placement by the beginning of February.  One of the other dogs in his current foster home is dealing with significant medical issues and will begin chemo soon.  Ideally, we hope his next move will be to his forever home.  If not, though, Caesar will be looking for a new foster home so we can keep this young boy out of the kennel.  Apply today if you are a good match for Caesar!

12/10/14

Caesar has come a long way with his behavior around men.  He has even started to snuggle with his foster dad.  Caesar loves to run and explore his fenced yard.  He is always finding something new to play with.  Caesar will need a large area to run and play in as he is a very high energy puppy.  He would do best in a home with a dominant female dog that can set limits with him.  Caesar still needs work with his training, but is getting better with basic manners.  If you are able to provide a good match for Caesar, apply to give this boy a forever home.

11/10/14

Caesar has been making a lot of improvements in his foster home.  He is still very cautious with men, but has been responding well to positive interactions with his foster dad.  Caesar is confined to one room when left alone, and he gets a special treat at this time.  Caesar needs to be placed with a young female dog who can help guide him and can also keep up with his energy level.  He would do best in a home without cats.  Caesar also needs a home with a securely fenced yard.  If you are patient and willing to continue Caesar's training, apply today to adopt this adorable boy.

10/12/14

Caesar is doing well at his foster home.  The crate is still not his favorite place to be, so his foster home has been trying to allow him to remain in a confined area when left alone.  He would love to find a home where somebody is there often to continue to work with him on this.  Caesar is definitely a very active boy who will need some work with his manners.  Because he lacks confidence, we are only looking at homes with a resident dog.  Caesar would love to find a home with a young, active female dog that can keep up with his energy level.

9/11/14

Caesar is now at his foster home and he did wonderful with introductions to the other three boxers.  He does have really negative reactions when he has to go into a crate, so will need a lot of work in this area.  We will post more once Caesar's foster family gets to know him better.

9/07/14 -

Caesar was surrendered to the shelter because of a reported bite that occurred when his owner was trying to force him into a crate.  We do not know how Caesar had been treated at his previous home.  If you move fast or don't introduce yourself, he is very worried about what you are going to do.  At the shelter, the staff report that Caesar has shown nothing but friendly and playful behavior.  He is an energetic boy who would love a fenced yard to run in.  The volunteer that met him indicated that he is a wonderful boy who wiggled all over the place when she greeted him.  Caesar was also evaluated with a young, female dog who he played very well with.

Caesar will be neutered this week and will then arrive at his new foster home with three other boxers.  His foster mom will take some time to learn more about Caesar and what kind of home he would do best in.  We will update his page once Caesar has a chance to settle in.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 3 months to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Not every home is the right match for a boxer, and matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us at your home visit of other dogs you are interested...  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
