Baxter is trying out his new costume to get ready for Halloween. This adorable, young boy is still looking for a great match. Baxter would do best in a home with a young, active dog that can keep up with him.  He is submissive to other dogs and really enjoys playing with them.  Baxter continues to need work with his manners.  He is doing much better with crate training and loves being around his people.  Let us know if you may be the right match for Baxter!

Baxter is a love bug and is friendly to every person he meets.  He wants lots of attention and is typically by his foster mom's side.  Baxter is mouthy and plays very rough.  He is a young energetic male in need of a boxer experienced home.  Baxter needs some work with his leash manners, particularly when he sees something and gets excited.  We recommend obedience training for Baxter.

Baxter would really benefit from having an active, young female dog to run and wrestle with.   He is doing well with his crate training.  Baxter is going to be a wonderful boy with some training and leadership.  If you are interested in providing a forever home for Baxter, apply today!

Baxter has been in his foster home for a week now.  We are happy to report that his loose stool has completely resolved with a round of Metronidazole and a grain free diet.  Baxter's foster mom reports that he plays very rough and will need work with obedience and manners.  He can get mouthy when playing, so a home with older children is recommended.  Baxter also needs some work with his leash manners.

Baxter would really benefit from having an active female dog to run and play with.  He really wants to box and wrestle.  Baxter has a great appetite and is eating three meals a day to help him gain some much needed weight.  He follows his foster mom around the house and will often lay at her feet.  Baxter loves to give kisses and is very friendly with everyone he meets.  If you have experience with this breed and the time to provide training and plenty of exercise for Baxter, apply today for this adorable young boy!!

Baxter is now at our vet's office and his stool is starting to improve already.  The volunteer that transported Baxter indicated he is an adorable boy who is full of puppy curiosity and energy!  Baxter loves toys and is very friendly with every new person he meets.  The vet indicated that his blood work was completely normal and Baxter appears to be a healthy boy.  He will be arriving soon at his new foster home.  We will update Baxter's page once he gets settled in and his foster family learns more about him.

9/11/14 -

Baxter was left in the night cage at a shelter.  He has been experiencing bloody stool while at the shelter, which the vet he saw believes could be gastroenteritis.  Baxter is a really sweet boy who is a favorite with many of the volunteers.  He was very playful during his dog test.

Baxter just finished a round of Metronidazole and Endosorb, but is still experiencing blood in his stool.  We are in urgent need of a foster home for Baxter so we can allow him to settle into a less stressful environment and figure out how we can help him.  We can not take Baxter into rescue unless he has a foster home who will commit to him and work with our rescue with his vet care and medical management.  If you can be Baxter's hero, please apply today for this adorable boy!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 3 months to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Not every home is the right match for a boxer, and matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us at your home visit of other dogs you are interested...  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
