Susie has been in her foster home for four weeks already and continues to do wonderful! She is housetrained and has no problem being left alone with her foster brother, a senior male boxer. She knows sit and give paw. Susie also knows how to sing for her supper, although no command is necessary for that trick! She is learning some better leash manners and gets mid-day walks. Susie loves all the toys that she has come across and it is not uncommon to find her napping with a stuffed toy. She will often grab a toy and try to entice either her foster boxer brother or her foster mom to play with her. Susie loves people and is all wags and wiggles when meeting someone new. This sweet girl is a huge cuddle bug and she likes to plop right onto your lap. She really wants to please. Susie is going to be a wonderful addition to a lucky home.

Susie is now in foster and is doing great!  She is getting along really well with the 11 yr old male boxer.  She is completely housetrained.  Susie knows some basic commands such as sit and give paw.  This girl has a great disposition.  She seems so happy all the time.  You can often find her running around and playing with toys!

Susie has been at our boarding kennel for a month now and is still in need of a foster home. She is very stressed at the kennel and we would love to get this sweet girl into a home environment. She loves people and has been wonderful with the other dogs she has met at the kennel and at the vet's office. If you can provide a foster home for Susie, please apply today!

9/15/13 -

Susie was found as a stray.  She was running down the interstate and volunteers from the shelter had to stop tractor trailers to get her to safety.  Once at the shelter, a tattoo was found - but the shelter was not able to trace this back to an owner.

Susie is a sweet boxer girl estimated to be around 5-6 years of age.  She was transported into rescue today and did well with everyone that she met.  Susie was very nervous and was shaking.  She is very confused about what is happening to her.  Susie is currently at our kennel and in urgent need of a foster home where she can relax and where we can learn more about her.  If you are able to help Susie get into a home, apply today!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
