Bullet is a wonderful, sweet boy! He is completely house trained.  Bullet likes to chase the squirrels in the yard.  He loves to eat and is gaining some much needed weight, as he lost a lot of weight at the kennel.  Bullet does not like the crate, but is fine to be left confined in a room or would be fine with free roam if that was possible.

Bullet is a strong, energetic boy for 8 years of age. He does need some work on his leash manners, especially when he is distracted.  Bullet is a very loyal dog that just needs a loving home with someone who is willing to give him a chance.  Bullet is a total snuggle bug -he loves people and kids. Bullet likes to play with his foster sister and is very indifferent with his handicapped foster brother - he pretty much ignores him.  Bullet can not be placed in a home with dominant or alpha males, though.  If you have a fenced yard and are a match for Bullet, please give him the opportunity to spend his golden years with his forever family.

11/23/13

Bullet participated in a photo shoot with "Photography by Ellen."  This sweet and friendly boy was able to get some Christmas photos taken in hopes of finding him a foster or forever home for the holidays.  He would do best in a home with just female dogs or as an only dog.  He is great with adults and children.  Bullet was able to attend an event today, where he enjoyed meeting all the new people and soaking up the attention.  He is losing weight in the kennel and is very stressed there.  We urgently need to get this senior boy out of the kennel and back into a home.  Please apply today to be Bullet's hero!

11/3/13

Bullet is in urgent need of a new foster home.  He is currently at our boarding kennel, which is not a place a senior boxer should be.  In Bullet's previous foster home, he lived with three children (twin 4 year olds and a 9 yr old).  Bullet loves to be outside, so would be happiest with a fenced yard.  He has a very high prey drive, so should not go to a home with cats or an invisible fence.

Bullet is very mellow in the house.  He does not like the crate, but is fine without one. Bullet is wonderful with both children and adults.  He would love nothing more than to sit with you and be petted.  He also enjoys belly rubs!

This senior boy has been through so many changes in the last few months.  If you can provide the right environment for Bullet, please let us know today so we can get him out of the kennel and back in a home environment.

9/20/13

Bullet is losing his foster home and will be going to our kennel this weekend, which is no place for a senior boxer!  The other resident male dog in his foster home does not want to share his space with Bullet anymore.  He is a great boy and has done well with all the other large dogs in the home.  Bullet can be left with free run when alone.  He is wonderful with people, does not jump up, and walks well on leash.  This boy is a total sweetheart who loves to cuddle.  If you can provide a foster or forever home for Bullet, please apply today!

8/8/13

Bullet is a very sweet dog with people.  He loves affection and will sit and just let you rub his head for as long as you would continue. He is completely housebroken and nondestructive in the house. Bullet rarely barks, unless he spots something outside. He would do best in a home with no cats or small dogs, as Bullet has a really high prey drive. He gets along great with the other boxers in his foster home, both male and female. Bullet enjoys going for walks and does well in a harness.  If you can provide a forever home for Bullet, apply today!

7/25/13

Bullet arrived at a new foster home last weekend, but is in urgent need of a new placement.  He is doing great with the three other boxers, but needs a home without cats.  Bullet has a very high prey drive.  We are trying to make sure this senior boy does not end up in a kennel.  If you can provide a foster home for Bullet, please apply today!

7/18/13

Bullet was transported yesterday to our vet's office.  The volunteer that met him indicated that Bullet is a happy and energetic boy.  He would love to have a fenced yard to run and play!  Bullet wiggled at everyone he met at the vet's office.  He traveled great in the car.  Bullet does need some work with his leash walking, as he likes to pull.  He will be arriving at his foster home soon and we will update his page once she learns more about this friendly and outgoing boy!

7/13/13 -

Bullet is a senior boxer boy who was surrendered to the shelter due to family difficulties.  The previous owner indicated that Bullet was an inside dog and he is housebroken.  They also reported that Bullet gets along great with both dogs and cats.  He is reported to have no known health issues.

Bullet will be transported to our rescue vet next week to be neutered and brought up to date on all vet care.  He will then be arriving at his new foster home.  We will update his page once we learn more about Bullet.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
