Diamond is still waiting for her forever family.  She is a really sweet girl who just LOVES to give kisses.  Diamond walks great with her harness, but prefers a fenced yard to potty.  She does really well with the two other dogs in her foster home.  Diamond is also wonderful with children.  She is a pretty easygoing girl.  If you think Diamond would be a good fit for your family, apply today!

7/28/13

Diamond has shown herself to be the perfect companion for a family with other animals. She tags along with her foster brother and sister (both boxers) and wants to play with them, but is uncomfortable sometimes getting in the mix with them. We have had "sleepovers" with 1 other boxer and 2 Bischons, and she did well with all three of them and making friends (though her foster mom thought six dogs in the bed was a bit much). Diamond loves to get into bed with the 2 legged little one in the house and listen to our bedtime stories. She also likes to come into his room in the morning to make sure he is ready for the day and his clothes match. Diamond loves the phrase "good girl" and spins in circles and sits when the phrase is uttered at any time because she knows she is going to get a treat. At 53lbs, she is the perfect "lap dog" companion when you are reading or watching TV and she is oh so snuggly!!!!

6/12/13

Diamond attended the Beltway Barks event with her foster family.  She loved seeing her daughter Shema and also meeting all of the new people.  Diamond would love a home with other dogs and she is also great with children of all ages.  If you are interested in adopting Diamond, apply today!

Diamond is adjusting very well to her new foster home. She is currently in foster with two other boxers (a male and a female) and a four year old child. She gets along great with the other dogs. Diamond plays with them, but always lets them take the lead. She does need some work with her leash manners.

Diamond has been very gentle with the child in the home. He thinks it is funny when she gives him kisses, which she does often! Diamond absolutely loves to just snuggle in your lap. She loves treats and knows the command to sit. Diamond is going to be a wonderful companion to a lucky home. She would love to have another dog also for company.

5/8/13

Diamond is still waiting at the kennel for a foster or forever home.  We would love to see Diamond placed in a home with other dogs.  Included are two new pictures from a recent visit by our volunteer and photographer (RussellBrammer.com).

4/21/13 -

Diamond, Noah, and Shema were sadly surrendered to the shelter due to the owner's terminal illness. The shelter contacted AABR to see if we could help this family. Diamond is 7-8 years old. She is a petite girl with a wonderful personality! Diamond is very friendly with people and enjoys car rides. She is currently at our boarding kennel and in urgent need of a foster home. Apply today if you can help Diamond get out of the kennel and back into a loving home!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
