We are not sure why this wonderful girl hasn't been snatched up yet. Ginger is great with people and adores children. Included are some new pictures of Ginger from her foster home and from an adoption event that she attended a few weeks ago. Ginger is always a favorite with visitors at events.  She would love to find a forever family of her own.  If you are interested in Ginger, apply today!

2/9/13

Ginger is very sweet and loves to be part of the family, preferably in your lap!  She is good with other dogs, but a little on guard when first meeting them.  After the initial meeting, she is very comfortable being with other dogs and she loves to play.  Ginger is on the dominant side with other dogs, so should be placed into a home with a submissive male.  She is getting along great with the other boxers at her foster home - they love to play together in the yard with a game of chase!  They will then snuggle next to each other on the couch after playtime.

Ginger is wonderful when she meets strangers and greets them happily!  She is also wonderful with kids of all ages.  She does not like cats, so a home free of small animals would be best.  Ginger would not do well in a home with an underground fence.  She would do best in a home with structural fencing to prevent her from chasing after small animals.

Ginger can be crated, but she would prefer not to be.  She has been left with free roam in the foster home when nobody was at home, and she did very well.  Ginger can open doors with a lever knob if she knows somebody is on the other side that she wants to be with - she is very clever!

Ginger knows sit and paw, and is very easy to train.  She is also easy to walk on leash and enjoys going for rides in the car.  She has recently been spayed and is now ready for her forever home.  Ginger is the perfect family dog!  She is a big lover and very easygoing.  Somebody will be very lucky to have Ginger as a part of their family.

1/21/13 -

Ginger is an absolutely adorable female boxer who was sadly surrendered to rescue. Her previous owner felt that Ginger needed a family that could provide a bigger house and yard for her. Ginger also is not good with cats. She lived with a 2 year old child that Ginger adored. We would love to find a home for Ginger with young children and a fenced in yard.

Ginger is housetrained and crate trained. She rides well in a car and knows all of her basic commands. Ginger does great with other dogs. She is afraid of loud noises such as thunder and fireworks. Ginger's temperament was described as very loving and also being a great snuggler. Ginger arrived at her new foster home yesterday and we will update her page once her foster mom learns more about her. Ginger will be spayed and ready for her new home soon. Apply today if you can provide a forever home for this sweet girl.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
