Bubba Gump is doing absolutely wonderful! His neck has completely healed and the hair has totally grown back from his surgeries. Bubba has completed his first heartworm injection and will receive the second and third rounds next week. He has gained about 30 pounds and for as rough a start as this wonderful boy had, you would never know it!

Bubba loves to wrestle with his foster brother and snuggle with his foster sister, both of whom are Boxers. Bubba is very affectionate and loves giving kisses and hugs. He is crate trained, but prefers to be with his people when they are home. Mr. Gump is completely housebroken and knows how to use a doggie door, and will even wake us up with kisses in the morning to go outside. He is very smart and learns quickly!

Bubba's personality is so sweet and patient, that I have begun training him as a therapy pet. Bubba loves going on walks -so much so that he often brings me his leash.  Apply today to adopt this wonderful boy!

Bubba Gump had a second surgery after popping all the stitches from his first one. While under, he was also neutered and a few bumps were taken off. He came through surgery like a champ and things are healing up very well. Bubba Gump has also started the first part of his heartworm treatment. He is the sweetest boy and loves everyone.  He tries to tackle you to give you kisses! From a chain to a warm crate, and now onto a forever home! Apply today!

Meet Bubba Gump! Mr. Gump was a cruelty case. He was tied and living outside in the cold with nothing to eat.  Besides an old wound from an embedded collar, Bubba Gump is also heartworm and lyme positive. Bubba had surgery to fix the wound on his neck, but because of the lack of skin to close the wound - there are still open spots which will have to be closed later. Until his neck is taken care of, Bubba cannot undergo his heartworm treatment. Through all of this, the vet hospital and his foster home say he could not be a sweeter boy. Bubba is a love bug and he loves to get attention. He is even playing a little with his foster family. What Bubba needs most right now is sponsors to help defer the cost of his surgery and heartworm treatment. Please consider donating to Bubba! We'll update on his progress as he gets better!!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
