Yippee!!! Charlee is done with his heartworm treatments and now can run and play just like all the other boxers! Charlee is a super fun boxer boy. He's everything you look for in a happy, young, energetic boxer. He loves to run, has a blast in the snow, and is so comfortable snuggling up to you. Charlee gets along great with his foster sisters and brother. He is skinny, so he is working on gaining weight.  Otherwise, Charlee is a beautiful boxer. He is house-broken, great on the leash, and a very good eater. Now that his heartworm treatment is done, Charlee is 100% as good as new and ready for the next chapter in his life! Can you help him start that new chapter? Apply to adopt him today!

Awesome! Sweet! Cuddly! That's just some of the ways you would describe Charlee. This guy is amazing. Charlee recently had his second (last) heart worm treatment and is hanging out at a foster home so that he can be monitored until a forever home can be found. Charlee needs to be kept calm over the next month while the treatment takes effect, but once that's over - he will be healthy and able to run and play just like any other young boxer boy. Charlee's foster mom reports that he is an absolute cuddle-bug. Charlee loves people and seems to be fine with the other dogs in the house. On walks, he starts to wiggle when he hears other people, especially kids.

Charlee is a bit banged up because he was left in the night drop off cage at a shelter and probably hurt himself trying to get out, but the scars are all fading and wow...this is one handsome boy. His pictures do not do him justice. Charlee is an adorable, happy, friendly, wiggling boxer boy!

Last night was Charlee's first night in a home after some time in the kennel and the vets office. As you can see from the video below, he had no trouble getting comfortable in a bed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sK645VvZ8Ps

This poor boy probably hasn't had too many soft beds in his lifetime. Despite being exhausted, his little nub never stops wagging. If you are looking for a smart, sweet cuddle-buddy, please consider applying to adopt Charlee. You will not regret it!

Charlee will be undergoing his second heartworm treatment in a few weeks and is still in need of a foster home to recover in.  We would love to get him out of the kennel so he can be monitored following treatment.  The volunteers at our kennel can't say enough good things about Charlee.  He loves to snuggle and just wants to be close to people.  He has enjoyed his leash walks and time out of his kennel run.  If you can help Charlee, apply today!

11/28/12

Charlee has been evaluated at the vet and was found to be heartworm and lyme positive.  He did receive his first heartworm treatment, but a kennel is not the place to recover from this.  Please offer to foster Charlee so he can be monitored in a home environment as he goes through treatment.

11/24/12 -

Charlee was left in the night cage at a shelter without any information. He had some wounds, likely from trying to get out of this cage. Charlee was tested with other dogs at the shelter. He was more dominant with other males, but very playful with a female - quickly rushing in and showing some play bows. The volunteer that transported Charlee indicated he was a total sweetheart with people. He is currently at our vet, but is still in need of a foster or forever home.  Please apply today to help Charlee!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
