I got to meet this sweet boy today - look at that smile!  He is energetic, but listens well. Chevy sits and shakes on command, and was very sweet with my 4 year old child. He is a little thin and really needs a foster or forever home. Chevy got along great with Tigger, our other boxer at the kennel. Chevy is a gorgeous boy that needs some love.  We want him to be out of the kennel and onto a soft doggie bed!

8/22/12

Chevy and Tigger have been transported to one of our local kennels. The kennel manager indicated that they love children. Both boys were so gentle with the 8 year old child that interacted with them.  They also do well with other dogs. Apply today to foster or adopt Chevy!

8/11/12 -

AABR was contacted by a non-profit organization to help two boxers who had been dumped at a local kill shelter.  This county shelter only has space for 8 dogs and until a new law was passed in 1999, it was lawful for the animal control officer to shoot dogs to euthanize them.  They have since changed their policy in the state to gassing chambers.

Chevy and Tigger are the latest to join our AABR family thanks to some special friends looking out for them! These boys came from this shelter. They have lived their lives outdoors, but will not be in that position again.  They deserve better and thanks to you, we will give them a life well deserved.

Chevy and Tigger are fully vetted and currently in a boarding facility waiting for a foster home or even better, a forever home! They've been evaluated and are currently in boarding with a trainer that does search and rescue.  She stated that they are both really nice dogs.  Please consider helping these boys.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
