Zoot continues to be a great dog. He's a huge love bug and would cuddle up next to you all day if he could. He's been out to restaurants with outdoor seating and has been a perfect gentleman. Although sometimes a bit stubborn, Zoot doesn't have a mean bone in his body -- he loves kids and adults and would love a home with another dog. He's now out of the crate during the day and has no problems at all when his foster sister is with him.  Apply today to adopt this wonderful boy!

Zoot is settling into his foster home.  He is really enjoying being out of the kennel and in a calm home environment. Zoot is the sweetest boy and has liked every dog, adult and child he has met. At his first adoption event on Saturday, he won the hearts of everyone who saw him. We're working on basic manners and he is starting to catch on - he tries hard to please. We also will be working on crate training and learning to be alone during the day.

Zoot has beautiful "tiger striping," and his soulful eyes definitely could help him get away with a lot!  Here are a few pictures of Zoot in his foster home, at Saturday's adoption event and with his foster sister. We will update his page again once Zoot has had a few more days to settle in.

I fell in love with this wonderful boy on his transport today.  He was so excited to leave the shelter.  Zoot met small and large dogs today at the shelter, and seemed to do well with them.  He is very playful.  Zoot loves people and couldn't get enough attention from his transporters.  He traveled well in the car and is currently at our vet's office to be neutered.  Please offer Zoot a foster or forever home!

7/27/12 -

Zoot is an adorable young boy with very unique brindle coloring.  He was found as a stray and nobody reclaimed this sweet boxer mix.  It was difficult to get pictures of Zoot because he wouldn't stop wiggling long enough.  He just loves when people give him attention.  Zoot will be neutered soon and brought up to date on all vet care.  He is in need of a foster home so we can learn more about him.  Apply today to foster or adopt this cute boy!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
