Andy is just the best boy. He is so happy to see everyone that he gets to meet. Andy loves going for car rides and he enjoyed a camping outing over the weekend. Andy is very easy to introduce to other dogs. He has been neutered and is up to date on all vet care. This wonderful boy is enjoying life and is ready for his forever home.

7/12/12

Andy was released from the University of Pennsylvania on Tuesday, and is now at our regular vet in the isolation unit.  Dealing with Parvo means that Andy can't be around other dogs for a couple of weeks and he needs to have his own 'outside' area since the virus can live in the ground for months. That's pretty much it, so please don't let that scare you away from this cute little boy!  Once Andy has been cleared to be around other dogs, he will be going to his new foster home.

Andy is a sweet boy with a great disposition.  He has been giving kisses to anyone who is near him.  Andy is a petite boy and probably still under a year of age.  His bill just at the University of Pennsylvania was $2300, so please consider donating towards Andy's care!

7/6/12 -

This good looking pup is in need of your help!

Andy was found laying immobile on a city sidewalk in this awful heat.  He was brought into the shelter and was thought to have had heat stroke.  After running some tests, the shelter found out that Andy is positive for Parvovirus.  AABR quickly rushed him to the emergency animal hospital, where he will remain until he is stabilized, healthy, and able to be moved into a foster home.  We are not sure how long that will be, but he is in the best of hands now with the people at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.  Please keep him in your thoughts!

Andy is pretty sick right now and we are hoping we caught it in time for him to recover.  He will need to be in the hospital for a little while and the estimated costs for his stay are in the $2000-3000 range.  As sick as he is, Andy still manages to wag his tail anytime somebody speaks to him.  And did you see his precious face?  It breaks your heart.

Please help us save sweet Andy by making a donation on his behalf or offering to foster once he makes it out of the hospital.  Thank you so much for all of your support.  We wouldn't be able to save all these dogs without you!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
