Twila is now being adopted through Camp Papillon Pet Adoption & Rescue.

Please visit their website at the link below to submit an adoption application for Twila!

9/2/12

Twila has been in her new foster home for 2 1/2 weeks. She is super cute and very playful. Twila loves laying outside in the sun. She also loves her squeaky toys and rope toys. Twila is doing great walking alone and with her "brother." Twila does better in her crate when home alone and at night. Our sweet girl would do best with a family that loves the outdoors and loves walks/runs.

7/24/12

Twila is now completely housebroken and we have started to train her on the invisible fence.  She is doing really well!  Twila is learning her basic commands, such as sit, stay, no, and down.  She loves being told that she is a good girl. Twila would love a home with a large yard to run and play in.  Apply today for this wonderful girl!

7/1/12

Twila continues to do well at her foster home.  We have discovered that Twila LOVES water and she really enjoys going in the pool.  Twila is crate trained and will go in fine for treats.  She is doing well with her housetraining.  Twila loves to play with her foster brother, but also enjoys taking naps.  We found that as long as she has a toy to keep her occupied, she is really good in the house. We are working on her leash manners and she is learning quickly.  Twila is eager to please and follow direction.  She is a sweet, loveable, and comical girl - apply today for Twila!

6/13/12

Twila is doing great in her foster home.  She is crate trained and almost completely house trained.  Twila is calming down nicely and getting along well with both of the dogs in her foster home.  Included are a few new pictures.

6/10/12 -

We received a call from one of our shelters for a black and white boxer the day AABR’s alumni, Twila, passed away. We went and evaluated her and to our surprise - she was a sweet, petite white girl (no black). We decided in honor of Twila that we would help her find the best home, just like Twila had!

Twila is a young “boxer” that has a smile that melts your heart. She greets you with sloppy kisses and 'how do you do' attitude! Twila loves everyone she meets, is happy to hop in and go for a ride, and loves just to take a long walk. She is reported to be good with other dogs, but should not go to a home with cats. Twila just joined her foster family with 2 other boxers. Twila's foster mom indicates that she is super cute and very loving. Twila loves to be petted (especially her tummy!) and cuddled. She would do best in a home with a dog who LOVES to play or as an only dog with lots of play dates! Twila can play very rough, so she needs a dog that can keep up with her. She is almost housetrained and will probably be there soon. Twila is a great dog who just wants to be loved! Apply to adopt this sweet girl whose smile will brighten your every day.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
