Tootsie is a sweet girl who loves to snuggle. She will follow her foster mom from room to room. Tootsie takes treats gently and walks well on leash. She is crate trained and completely housebroken. Tootsie also loves to go on car rides. She is a very easy going girl who enjoys patrolling her fenced yard for squirrels.  Tootsie would do best in a home without other dogs or with an older, easygoing male. Thank you for your interest in Tootsie!

7/6/12

Tootsie has been in a temporary foster home the past two weeks.  Unfortunately, she has not done well with the other male boxer and is looking for a new foster or a forever home.  Her foster mom feels she may be happier in a home without other dogs.  Tootsie is a timid girl and she needs time to warm up.  She loves attention from people and will follow you from room to room.  If you can provide a home for this cute girl, apply today for Tootsie!

Tootsie did great on her transport today! She met Sadie, another female boxer, who was also transported with her and they got along great. Tootsie is a pretty easygoing and friendly girl. She traveled well in the car and has no problems meeting everyone today. She is timid in new situations, so will need a home that can help increase her confidence.  This beautiful girl is ready for adoption - apply today!

6/15/12 -

Tootsie is a 4 year old petite female boxer.  She was given to a friend to dog sit for a week and the owners never came back for her.  They have since moved and will not return any calls to take Tootsie back, so she was taken to the local shelter.

The person that temporarily watched Tootsie indicated that she is great with children.  She was wonderful with the two year old child in the home.  When left alone, Tootsie does need to be crated.  She is housebroken and is a really sweet girl.  The shelter indicated that she was doing well with other dogs and that she also passed her cat test.  Tootsie will be brought up to date on all vet care and will be transported to rescue next weekend.  We will update her page with new pictures and more information at that time.  Tootsie is in need of a foster home when she arrives in rescue.  Thank you for your interest in this beautiful girl!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
