Has it really been two weeks since we picked up Spots? We have been calling him Cesear as he deserves a brand new start in life. We have learned more about his previous life prior to arriving in rescue and it was not good. We have included a few photos of Cesear, tied with a logging chain in the backyard.  He did not have proper shelter and had to fend for himself.  Cesear would have no food or water for days at a time. We have even found what we suspect may be a bullet just under his skin, which will be removed shortly.

When Cesear was seized by animal control, his life drastically changed for the better. Cesear responds quite well to his new name. He has really fit in here at his foster home with his two sisters, a boxer female and a boxer mix female. After only two days, he had the pottying routine down with no problem!

Last Saturday, after the rainstorm, he came in from the deck and gave his foster dad a kiss as if to say "Thanks for keeping me out of the rain!" He has claimed the sofa and loves napping there. Cesear sleeps at the foot of my bed on his doggie bed. He also is getting used to being in the crate when we leave the house.

Cesear did not know how to play at first, but Sophie & Sandi have shown him the ropes and he has caught on quickly. This past Friday, our son visited with his two boxers & Cesear had no problems with either of them. They all ran around and played together. Cesear was even playing fetch with a tennis ball. He is starting to learn basic commands such as sit, off, stay, and down. I think he is feeling like he has hit the jackpot here since he is inside now with lots of food & love. He is an awesome boy and is going to be a wonderful addition to a lucky family!

8/12/11 -

Spots is a male boxer estimated to be around 3 years old. He was taken from a home by an animal control officer because he was not being taken care of properly. Spots is thin and his skin has been rubbed around his neck from being chained. At his previous home, he was living outside with a Beagle and the only shelter he had was from a tree.

Spots is now safe in a temporary foster home until his vetting is completed. He will then be transported into rescue and will be looking for a foster or forever home. For all he has been through, Spots is a very friendly boy and he absolutely loves attention from people. He is starting a new chapter in his life - please offer to provide a loving home for this sweet boy!

Prior to rescue:

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
