Gretel is doing great in her foster home!  She can be lazy all day, but when you come home, she is so happy to see you that she will wiggle everywhere and sometimes throw a toy in the air.  Gretel likes to roll onto her back and will often sleep that way.  For an 8 year old girl, she acts half her age!  She is not a jumper.  Gretel will follow you and lay at your feet.  She is a total love with people!

6/03/15

Gretel is doing very well back in her foster home.  She is an active and playful girl who loves attention.  Gretel does well with her foster brother, a male boxer.  She enjoys being outside and also can be a lazy couch girl!  Gretel is in foster with a 10 yr old child.  She loves food and is always waiting for handouts.  Gretel is crate trained and housebroken.  Apply today if you are interested in adopting Gretel!  She would love a home with a male dog as a companion.

4/23/15

Gretel is being returned to rescue after four years.  She is spending long periods of time alone in her crate and needs a home that can provide more time and attention.  Gretel would also do best in a placement with a male dog as a companion.  She will be returning soon to her previous foster home and we will post an update once we learn more about Gretel.  Apply today if you are interested in adopting this sweet girl!

Gretel is now in foster with a 6 year old child and a Chihuahua. She is housebroken and can be left alone in the house without being destructive. Gretel is shy and loves to be petted or held. She loves children and will follow them around. Gretel also does great on leash. She has been sleeping on the sofa and gets along great with other dogs. Apply today if you are interested in adopting Gretel!

7/10/11 -

Gretel was surrendered to AABR because she outlived her use at a local puppy mill.  This little girl has not had a easy life living in a mill, but her personality is shining more and more every day that she has been out. She loves attention and giving kisses! She follows her temporary foster mom around and wants to be close.

With love and attention, Gretel will make an excellent family dog. She is almost housebroken and is pretty low key. Gretel gets along with other dogs of all sizes and travels well in the car. Apply today to foster or adopt Gretel and check back for more updates!

2011:

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
