Hi Everyone, it's Lily (Sparkle) checking in to tell you about how well I'm doing in my foster home.  Life outside of the puppy mill is fantastic! I had no idea before just how much fun & love life had to offer me & I'm enjoying learning all about it.  Recently, my foster mama took me to an adoption event where I met many new people & dogs. I'm still a bit timid with new people, but I warm up in no time. I even got to meet children while I was there & they immediately became my friends. I couldn't get enough of their attention & affection.

My foster mama has taught me to "sit" on command & most of the time I "stay" when she tells me to as well.  I've also discovered how much fun it is to be outdoors.  My foster mama takes me hiking along the trails & logging roads & across streams & creeks & I love it!  She says I'm a great hiking partner. I'm also a great running/jogging partner, she tells me. I never got to run in my previous life in the mill, but now, I've learned to run after the ATV with my foster brother & sister. When I'm outside running, I haven't a care in the world. It's the most fun ever! I love to cuddle & my foster mama is always telling me how sweet I am.  I would love to have a family of my very own- a family who will be patient with me & help me continue to blossom & discover what life has to offer me & in return I will be the best friend you could ask for!

Sparkle, now called Lily, is now in a foster home. She has quickly learned from her new foster brother and sister where the comfy places in the house are. Lily is adjusting well to her new surroundings. Because she is used to a puppy mill environment, everything in the house is a new experience for her. She is amazed by things such as a ceiling fan, a TV, and a phone. Lily is very curious and warmed up quickly to her foster parents. Lily now has a great new life ahead of her!

Sparkle, who has become known as and responds to Lily, has been doing great in her temporary foster home. Since she came to AABR, Lily has come out of her shell and is really showing her great personality. She loves attention and gives kisses on demand! Lily gets along great with her four legged brothers and sisters; she plays with them and shares attention well. Lily is looking for a forever home that can show her love and kindness, and give her the attention she never received in the mill. If you are looking for a friend to sit on the couch with or play fetch outside, please consider opening your home to this great gal!

2/25/11 -

Sparkle was surrendered from a local puppy mill and is currently in a temporary foster home.  She is a very sweet fawn girl, approximately five years old. It doesn't seem that Sparkle received much positive attention in the mill. She is shy of new people, but seems to warm up once trust is built. She is unsure of all the new things around her.

Sparkle has never experienced life outside a mill before. Sparkle would benefit being in a home that is structured and can provide stability. She is also looking for a family that can provide lots of love and basic care. Check back soon for more information and pictures. Please apply today if you can give Sparkle a second chance at life and show her the love and affection she never had!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.

Adoptions Fee: Please see our adoption info by clicking on the link at the top of this page.
