Tyson is currently at a boarding kennel. One of our volunteers has been going to the kennel to interact with him and he is doing better with each visit. He is now playing fetch and responding well to commands.  Tyson can be very nervous when first meeting new people. He needs a lot of work with socialization and would do best in a home without other dogs at this time. Tyson is looking for a home experienced with boxers and one that can be firm and in charge with him. If you are interested in providing a home for Tyson, apply today!

4/5/11

Tyson is doing well and is a happy boy. I had him running off leash for the first time today at a large fenced in soccer field. He is definitely a free spirit and loves to run with no particular destination in mind, so I would think a large fenced in yard would be a big benefit for him at his forever home. He has gotten much better on the leash and he needs 2 long walks a day. Tyson would do best in a home without young children. If you can provide a structured, forever home for Tyson - apply today!

12/13/10

Tyson is an adolescent boxer who has had a lack of leash training and basic manners, but is learning new things daily with his foster Dad. Tyson is on a structured exercise routine and his foster dad is working with him on his manners. He reports improvement with every day.

Tyson's forever home will need to be one that is experienced with young boxers and a home that can continue his training and take it to the next level. Tyson enjoys exercise and play. He would like a home that will continue to challenge him. Tyson is in a foster home as an only dog, but we feel as he learns how to play with others that he will do well. It is obvious that his previous home did not socialize him with people or animals, so this is a gradual process that he is learning. Tyson is going to make a great companion for someone that has the time to work with him. In return, he will be your life long companion.

11/22/10

Tyson has been a super guest while at my home. He is totally housebroken and walks like a champ on lead. Tyson is a goof ball - he loves to play with toys and run around in my basement with my 13 yr old son throwing toys to him.  A lucky home will gain a new best friend in Tyson.

11/17/10 -

Tyson is a cute 2 yr old fawn boy that was surrendered to the shelter because his owners moved and could not take him with them. We do know that Tyson has not lived with other animals. He did, however, do well with his dog and behavior tests at the shelter. Tyson is housebroken and is reported to be crate trained. He has proven himself to be a totally goofy, friendly boy so far. As his foster home gets to know him, we will post another write up. Stay tuned!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
