You can not meet Kristie and not fall in love with her! She is an extremely happy and outgoing girl. Kristie has an incredible personality with tons of character. She is a clown and will make you laugh each day. She is a lot of fun, but is also a great snuggler and very well behaved. Kristie is very devoted to her owner. She has been in foster for seven months already and is ready for her forever home - apply today for this sweet girl!

Kristie is truly the ultimate companion . She is such a content girl and just loves to hang out with her family and loves to play with people and other dogs she is familiar with. Kristie is very popular at adoption events because she is so sociable with everyone she meets! She is so sweet and lovable, which makes her a very easy girl to fall in love with. Because she can jump a 6 foot fence, it has been challenging finding the right home for her.  She is doing well in her foster home's 6 foot fenced yard as long as someone is out in the yard with her so she doesn't have a reason to go looking for her family. She just doesn't want to be outside without her people.

This fun, petite girl is currently in a foster home where she is 1 of 6 Boxers. She gets along well with the Boxers in her foster home, but does need some time to warm up to a dog she does not know. Kristie could also go to a home where she is the only dog as well. She would be a great friend to you if she were to be part of your family!

2/19/11

Kristie is a charmer! She is friendly with everyone she meets and is happy to just lay her head in your lap and be loved on! She is selective with her kisses and when she does give them, they are gentle and sweet. She does pull on her leash when she is walked and as mentioned before, she can jump a 6 foot fence. If she is not left unattended in the yard, she does not jump over. Kristie is simply looking for where everyone is and she just wants to be with people. She is an easy going girl and not hyper, although she does like to play and can kidney bean and boxer wiggle with the best of them! Kristie is great with kids, but toddlers over long periods are a bit much for her - so 8 years and older would be best.

Kristie gets along with other dogs as long as they are not dominant, as she is a bit dominant herself.  She would probably be best in a home without cats.  Two of Kristie’s favorite treats are ice cubes and bananas, although she is not picky about what she eats at all! This is a VERY happy and fun loving girl who is easy to fall in love with! She is very well behaved and just as sweet as they come.  Whatever home adopts this incredible girl will be very blessed as she has a lot of love and snuggles to offer!

12/29/10

Kristie's heartworm treatment went very well and she is doing great in her foster home.  She is such a lovable girl and so very good. Her petite size makes her a perfect snuggler, which is her absolute favorite thing to do! She is very well behaved and does not jump on people other than gently on occasion to be petted. She has yet to bark at anything, even though the other dogs in the foster home bark at things. She knows sit and is good in a crate or loose in the house when no one is home. Kristie gets along well with other dogs, but would probably do best with a submissive male dog as a partner.  She loves being with people most of all, so would also be okay as an only dog. Although she can jump a 6 foot fence, if someone is outside with her in the yard or stands at the door and let's her back in as soon as she does her "business," she does not look to jump the fence. Kristie is more interested in getting back inside to be with her family snuggled up somewhere! If you are looking for a small, snuggly, well behaved boxer girl, then Kristie would be perfect for you!

11/16/10

Kristie is doing very well in her foster home. She is well behaved and truly enjoys being with her person . She loves to play and gets along great with other dogs, but she is also happy to lay at her foster mom's feet while she is working on the computer. Kristie has jumped the 6 foot privacy fence at her foster home, so she will need close supervision in the yard. Her foster mom believes she jumped the fence because she wanted to be with her.  Kristie is as adorable in person as she is in her photos and she has gained several pounds since she has been in her foster home! She will definitely make one lucky family very happy. If you are looking for a Boxer who wants to be with you and will adore you, Kristie is the perfect little Boxer girl for you!

11/06/10 -

Kristie and Jasper were surrendered to a shelter in the south about a week apart. Jasper was surrendered because his owner lost his job and he could not care for him. Kristie came from the same owner and she was surrendered because she would not produce puppies anymore. Kristie is estimated to be around 3-4 years of age.  She didn't have a name prior to coming to rescue because her previous owner didn't feel she needed one.

When Kristie was at the vet's office to be spayed, they determined that she was a light heartworm positive. She will begin her treatment soon. Please offer to sponsor Kristie today to help pay for her medical care! She will be going into a foster home soon, and we will update her page with new pictures and information as soon as her foster mom gets to know her better.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
