Look how amazing Louis' leg looks. The mass on his leg was just a mass, nothing but a large body of nothing hanging onto him by some skin. It could have been an old wound that healed like that, but it had no cancer cells or anything of a worry in it. He is a healthy and happy boy who is loving life. All he needs now is a super home to spend the rest of his life in. Louis is so good with other dogs and he has no care over cats around him either. He is friendly to everyone he meets and loves people of all ages.  Louis is now neutered and up to date on all of his shots and microchipped.  This is one sweet dog - apply today for Louis.

Included are some new photos of Louis from his foster home!

Louis had a growth removed and we received wonderful news - it was not cancer! His growth was benign, most likely a concrete sore that became infected. Louis is now neutered and he received a clean bill of health. Louis is currently in foster with a female boxer, and we will update his page soon! Thank you for your interest in Louis!

Louie has been in my apartment for 24 hours now and this little guy couldn't be more grateful for a clean place to lay his head. When I picked him up from the shelter yesterday, he was covered in filth from living on his own in a building in the Bronx. Fortunately, you would never know this guy had a rough day in his life from his personality. He is a tiny little boxer (55 lbs) full of wiggles and excitement. He had no problem with me picking him up and bathing him immediately upon arriving home from the shelter. He is happy to meet anyone that wants to meet him. He spent Saturday afternoon cruising the streets of NYC making all kinds of friends- from grown up to toddlers, he was great with everyone. He is very easy to have around the house, he is quiet and relaxed... unless you invite him to play and then he is spry and play bows and boxes like a puppy! He is the perfect combo! When his little nub wags, I can't help but wonder how a dog this sweet ends up in a high kill shelter. Help us give Louie a chance to live the life he deserves.

9/10/10 -

Louis is a male boxer who was found in an abandoned building in the Bronx.  He is estimated to be around 8 years old.  Louis was pulled from the shelter this evening, and we will update his page soon with more information!  Apply today if you can provide a foster or forever home for this sweet senior boy!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
