8/26/10

Cocoa has been with us for 3 weeks now and has made herself right at home. When it's time for bed, she jumps right up on mine and stays the whole night. The good thing is she's a sound sleeper and not an early riser. She might be small in stature, but has one big personality. She likes to howl when she tries to get your attention and also at her 2 foster brothers. She is a little rough at play, which we're working on.  She listens really well.  Cocoa stays at the door when you open it and is now coming to her name.  She sits great, especially when treats are involved. For the most part, she walks well on the leash but sometimes still pulls.  Cocoa is completely housebroken.

Cocoa is a great little girl who will need a Boxer savvy home and someone as strong willed as her. She also would love a brother or 2 to cuddle up with on the love seat to take naps with. A nice fenced yard to run in would be great too. When you first meet her she will come right up to you, sit with her back to you and melt your heart. If this sounds like what you are looking for - apply now and give this sweet girl the loving home all boxers deserve. Cocoa says thanks...

8/4/10 -

Meet our newest family member, Cocoa. She is a petite brindle girl that was thrown over the fence at a local shelter. She was skunked and running free in the parking lot when the shelter employees arrived. Imagine spending your life with a family that throws you away like trash. With everything she has gone through, she has remained a sweet, happy girl. Cocoa is now in foster with 2 male boxers and is settling in just fine. We will update her page as we learn more about our sweet Cocoa.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
