Casper, now known as Woody, was adopted by his foster family, and recently received his Canine Good Citizen Award.  He is a much loved member of his family and his community.

Good Job Woody!

Thank you Juli Lathrop of the KRAMER Foundation, and his foster family, for giving this guy a third chance!

10/30/10

Casper is in training at his new "foster to adopt" home. He has been accepted for training at The K.R.A.M.E.R. Program.  The program and it's founder, Juli Lathrop, have been recognized and awarded by numerous national organizations.

The K.R.A.M.E.R. Program is named for Juli's original dog, Kramer, and was established in 1999 to promote the relationship between youth and law enforcement and promote social and educational skills that would build a foundation for a successful student/citizen.

K.R.A.M.E.R. is a combination of programs that partner the Sheriff’s Department, Schools, Community Agencies and Dogs in an effort to support every aspect of student and family needs. Dogs and students are mixed in programs that promote communication.  The students are totally responsible for the training of their assigned dog until they are adopted. This class teaches responsibility, love, empathy, sympathy and kindness. All training is motivational, reward centered training.

We will keep you updated on Casper's progress.

10/8/10

Casper was adopted two months ago, but is having difficulty with the other male boxer in the home. His home is sadly returning Casper to rescue. They indicate that he is the sweetest and most lovable boy. Casper knows at least 20 different signs and he is very eager to please. A new update will be coming soon - please apply today to give Casper a forever home!

Casper is doing really well in his foster home. He is currently in a foster home with a 6 year old. His foster mom says he is a really good dog, very sweet and he is all wiggles and kisses. Casper is recovering from kennel cough and will be starting his heart worm treatment shortly. Please consider sponsoring or adopting this sweet boy.

4/25/10 -

Casper was an owner surrender to the shelter. He is heartworm positive. Casper will be treated for his heartworm and then neutered. He is very friendly with people and other dogs. Casper is in a temporary foster home and we will update his page soon once we learn more about him. Please apply today to foster or adopt Casper!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
