Lucky is doing fabulous in foster care. He is the sweetest dog!! He has been wonderful with all of the kids he has met, both in the neighborhood and out and about. Lucky is currently in foster with two boys, ages 5 and 7. Lucky has been getting along well with most of the other dogs in the neighborhood. He still has A LOT of "puppy" in him. When he sees other dogs, he immediately wants to play and is unaware of his size.

Lucky needs to be in a home with someone who is home most of the day. We are still working on his house training and trying to figure out his "gotta go" signs. We are also working on his crate training. He LOVES to run around in the yard and should have a fenced yard to play in. We have been working on training commands. He knows sit, down, and stay. He has good "house" manners - no chewing furniture, shoes or anything that's not a toy. He also has stayed off the beds and couches. Lucky is not a barker - we have only heard him bark when he is playing with other dogs. Everyone who has met him falls in love and comments on just how sweet he is!!

11/12/10

Lucky is very stressed at the kennel and is in urgent need of a foster home. The kennel staff are very worried about him - he has been losing weight and is not functioning well in this environment. Our volunteers go to the kennel frequently to spend time with Lucky and to take him for car rides and walks, but what he really needs is a home environment.

This young boy is very people oriented. He has lived with children of all ages and is great with everyone he meets. Lucky will need a patient and committed home that is there often to work on his housebreaking. He is looking for an active family that will provide a lot of exercise and structure. Lucky is great on leash and is very eager to please. If you can help Lucky, submit an application today!

10/11/10

Lucky, known as Boomer by his previous home, was adopted in March as a 5 month old puppy.  He is now 1 yr old, and is being returned to rescue because he is not getting along with the other dog in his home.  Lucky has lived with children of all ages, and he is wonderful with both children and adults.  He is very sweet and loving!  He would do best in a home with a fenced yard and somebody there often.  We will post updated pictures soon.  Sadly, Lucky is waiting in a kennel until we can find a foster or forever home for him.  Apply today!

3/2010 - Adopted!

3/7/10 -

Lucky was found as a stray and taken to the local shelter. He is estimated to be around 5 months old. He is currently at the vet's office where he will be neutered and brought up to date on all vaccines. Lucky will then be going into a foster home, and we will be updating his page soon with more information.

All of the volunteers that transported him have fallen in love with this adorable boy! He would do best in a home with a fenced yard where he can run and play, and where somebody is home often to work on his housetraining. Lucky is great with people and other dogs. Apply today to adopt Lucky!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
