Lilly is super friendly and gives kisses whenever she can. She likes cats and other dogs and is doing great in her foster home. Lilly is extremely food motivated and gets excited about her treats and Kong toy. She likes her crate and doesn't whine or bark when it's time for her to lay down. Lilly is a little snuggler and she'll curl right up next to you on the couch or in bed. She would love to meet her forever family soon!

What can I say about this jewel in the rough. Lilly is an English Bulldog and Boxer mix and is simply the sweetest dog I have ever met. I now know why they tried so hard to get her out of the south alive. She has had a rough life. Her owner passed away and the family could not afford her. She is slightly heartworm positive, but we just got the meds to treat it and with a little rest she will be good as new. Lilly is up to date on her shots and in good shape otherwise. Her hair needs to grow back in from unknown causes, which we are investigating as well.  Just don't let her appearances fool you. She can jump over my sofa in a flash to give a kiss. Lily loves everyone she meets. She is very dog friendly and just can't get enough of my son's attention. She truly deserves the best home ever to make up for her lousy past life. From here on out, it is nothing but blue skies and fun for this great gal!

1/23/10 -

Lilly was going to be euthanized at a southern shelter. I try not to look at all the pics that come my way, as it is so sad, but I opened this one up and Lilly looked just like my girl, Jessie, that passed away two years ago.  It broke my heart that no local rescue would help her - everyone said she is too old or not cute enough. I think she is the cutest girl ever. She is in a shelter volunteer's home for temporary foster with her other dogs and she is fine with them. Lilly was dropped off after her owner died. How sad that no one in her family would take her in.

Please help us help Lilly. Open your hearts to this dear girl that only wants to give you kisses. She doesn't know what happened to her good life before her owner died. We will post more info as we get her into rescue this weekend.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
