Hi World!!

Scoop here and I am a Man on a Mission! I want to find my forever home. My foster momma calls me Scoop da Man -- whatever it is, Scoop's da Man! Want to go for walks...Scoop's da Man! Want to go for a leisure ride...Scoop's da Man! Want to give belly rubs while snuggled on the couch watching football or the latest action flick...Scoop's da Man! How about a little yard work or wax the vehicle...you've got it...Scoop's da Man! No matter what you're doing, I'll be right there with you every step of the way! There's only one little area where Scoop's Not da Man...I have a difficult time sharing my foster mom with the other dogs...at least for the time being...it's a story!

See, I was found really emaciated, then spent the next year living in a shelter and kennel -- I've been without a home for sooo long, I just want ALL the attention to myself. I am living in a foster home with two gorgeous female boxers and my foster momma is working with me on boundaries and social skills and we're all hoping I can learn to share the attention. I don't mind other doggies around and will play with other dogs - I just want all the loving I can get from my owner!

But let me tell you, fortunately foster momma has many more good things to say about me! She says that I'm very attentive and a complete LOVE BUG! I need some work on boundaries, but have been trying really, really hard to learn! I'm doing MUCH better on my leash walking and guess what...no matter where I am or what I'm investigating...you give one simple Scoopy Call and I'm RIGHT THERE! I haven't had an accident in the house yet and although I'm not a big fan of the crate, I do go in and settle down pretty quickly.

So what do you say...do you need a Scoop da Man around the house for those tough tasks???

Scoop has been in the kennel four months now and he is still waiting for a foster or forever home. We are really hoping to at least get him into a foster home soon so we can learn more about him. Scoop loves people and he has reacted well to the other dogs he has come in contact with. He needs some work on his leash walking. Scoop takes treats very gently and is food motivated to learn. Scoop would love a home with somebody who will teach him commands and spend time with him as he is very eager to learn. Scoop would benefit from a fenced yard to play in. Please give this boy a chance!

11/27/09 -

Scoop is a sweet and outgoing boy with an unforgettable face! He was originally brought to the Humane Society several months ago after someone found him as a stray in Virginia. He was emaciated when he was caught, but he is much healthier now. We are guessing him to be a Boxer/English Bulldog mix.

After spending four months at the Humane Society, Scoop is now with AABR.  He is very people-oriented and loves to have visitors.  Because of his high energy and physical nature, Scoop would do best in a home with adults or older children who have previous experience with energetic dogs. With a stable home and some proper training, Scoop will be a wonderful family companion.

Scoop would love to find a foster or forever home. Apply today for Scoop!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
