Duncan's trainer has indicated that he is doing great! Duncan has learned sit, down, stay, and heel. He has recently shown no reaction to other dogs. Duncan loves to walk and has been great on all human introductions while on walks. When he hears a loud voice, he cringes and reacts with fear when a hand is near his head. Duncan is gaining trust, and when he sees the leash - he goes into a very playful mode. He is going to be a wonderful dog!

5/22/10

Duncan will be going into an in-home training program for 30 days and will then be ready for his lifetime home. The home that adopts Duncan will be getting a lifetime guarantee for any problems or questions with Duncan. This will ensure that Duncan will lead a wonderful life. He is currently in training with Jerry Mace in Central PA. The website is:

Because Duncan has been bounced and kenneled due to our lack of foster homes without other dogs, he is in need of socialization and help with acclimating back to a home environment. If you would like to be that lucky home for Duncan, please let us know as soon as possible and submit an application for Duncan, as the home will need to pick him up at Jerry's home in York, PA when he is finished with his training. Please give Duncan a chance and apply today!

Duncan continues to wait at the kennel for a foster or forever home. He is an outgoing and friendly boy. Duncan is completely housetrained and he is definitely ready for his forever home. Duncan loves the car, playing with balls, and he especially loves any type of squeaky toys. He is going to be a fantastic boy for a boxer savvy owner who will continue to train him and provide lots of exercise. Duncan really enjoys walking on the trails and in the woods. If you can provide a foster or forever home for Duncan, submit your application today!

Duncan is back at a kennel and in need of a foster home.  Duncan's foster dad was working too many hours and wasn't able to continue fostering him.  Duncan does well with full run of the house during the work day.  Please apply today to foster or adopt Duncan!

Duncan continues to do well in his foster home. He is now playing with squeaky toys and doing much better on his walks. He has full run of the house during the work day without any problems. His foster dad is working long hours, so we are hoping to find a forever home soon for Duncan so he doesn't have to spend so much time alone. He is a happy boy - his tail is always wagging. Apply today for Duncan!

Duncan is now in foster and doing great. He is totally housebroken and adjusting to home life quickly. He is a gorgeous boy. Duncan loves to go for rides in the car and is very affectionate. He doesn't know anything about toys so we are wondering if he ever had any? Duncan's foster Dad just got a new job and wont be able to foster for long as he will be gone 8-9 hrs a day .Duncan is a dog that was picked up as a stray and kept by the home for 4 days with small kids and he did great with the kids. He did terrible with the cats so the family had to take him to the local shelter. Duncan did well there, being kept in the home uncrated for the work day. Please consider this great dog. Apply today to foster or adopt Duncan!

Duncan is with Amy and Steve at there kennel. They are trainers and agreed to take Duncan while we waited for his foster home and even better lifelong home. Here is Amy's update:

Duncan is doing fine loves Steve and follows him everywhere. He is house trained and loves to run around the yard. Comes right to you when you are ready to bring him back in. He is aloof around people though, and is learning how to play and to be social. He has been good with other dogs and we suggest a home with a submissive female.

7/28/09 -

Duncan is a fawn boy estimated to be around 3-4 years old. He was found as a stray and is in urgent need of a foster or forever home.

Duncan is great with people, and seems to do well with other dogs. He would do best in a home without cats. Duncan will be neutered today and updated on all vet care. We will update Duncan's page once we know more about him.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
