Chip is doing great! He is such a fun-loving guy. As you can see from the new pictures, Chip absolutely loves other dogs. We really think that Chip will need at least one other fun loving dog in his forever home and also a fenced in yard. Chip could also fit into a home with multiple dogs. He loves the bossy females especially for some reason! He is such a ham. Like a typical young boxer, Chip is very energetic - so older children only.  It is a must that he has a dog buddy to play with so that he can be his goofy self. Cats are fine too! Come meet Chip today and he will surely brighten your life!

08/04/09 - Update

Chip is such a wonderful dog and doing great! He knows all his commands really well, listens, walks well on lead, loves playing fetch, is housebroken, and wonderful and quiet in the crate. Chip takes direction beautifully. Someone must have really worked hard on teaching him commands in the past, and it certainly paid off.

He has been doing well having free run of the house as well--except for an occasional shoe or two that he likes to toss in the air (typical puppy)! Chip is a large puppy, so we would like to see him go to a home with older kids only. He thinks he is a 20 pound lap dog sometimes and needs some reinforcement with certain puppy manners. He is goofy and super happy--he will definitely put a smile on your face several times a day.

Chip loves other dogs, big and small, and cats. He does really well with the resident cat because the cat loves to play with him--what a comedy team they make! I am so proud to walk Chip around town. Some of the yappy small dogs with attitudes will bark away at him and he just ignores and keeps on walking! What a well behaved boy and such a show off :). I can only foster Chip for a couple weeks. Please offer to adopt this awesome boy--he is move in ready--and waiting for you!

7/21/09 - Chip

Welcome Chip to AABR--this boy has the cutest face! We don't have much history on him and who he lived with exactly, but he did pass the dog, cat, and temperament tests at the shelter. In typical boxer style, he did a play bow with everyone he met--this boy can't wait to get into a home and play! We are looking for a foster or permanent home for him. He is super friendly, seems submissive, and very cute. Please apply today for Chip!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
