4/9/11 - MEMORIAL

I would like a memorial added to your website for my senior boxer that I rescued almost exactly two years ago.  I had to put her down today (4/1/2011) due to liver failure.

She was a sweet, loving boxer.  She immediately felt like one of the family from the fist moments we laid eyes on her.  She loved her little brother, Benny (a Chihuahua).  He would bark at nothing just to see her get up from sleeping.  Then, he would go back in his cage once she did.  It was so funny seeing the Laurel and Hardy antics of those two.  My son will miss his body pillow.  She didn't care who laid on her and for how long.  She enjoyed going "bye-byes," especially in the car.  She will never know the magnitude to which she showed us love.  We could never have showed her as much love as she showed us.  She will be remembered longer than forever.

Thank you for one of the greatest gifts EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

5/2009 - Adopted!

05/09/09

Update - Hi, It's me Nikki!!! I am still living with my foster mom and can't believe no one has adopted me yet. I think I am just a GREAT girl with a GREAT disposition and my foster mom loves me too.... I love every person I meet and they all say, " They love my cute face and wiggles." I am an easy girl to take care of too. Like I said, " I love the vet, car rides, hanging out and never make a mess, never any accidents, and I keep myself occupied with a good bone or toy. " I like to sleep too :-) What more could you ask for? I do okay with my dog buddies but don't really like sharing the attention.... It's ALL about me...well at least I think it is :) So I could go to a home with a laid back dog like me...no hyper puppies please.

PLEASE give me a FOREVER home. I will be going to a kennell on 5/10 and are sure HOPING some wonderful person will foster me or give me a loving, forever home by than. NO senior girl deserves to spend her Senior years in a kennel.

I'll be waiting!

Hi, it's me again.  Nikki the "seasoned" Boxer.  I am 10 years young.  My foster mom loves me tons and has a lot to say about me:

Nikki makes a GREAT companion and is happy to lie down near your feet or taking up space on the couch.  At the present time, she is in a foster home with 3 other male dogs.   She loves everyone she meets especially kids and is a dancin' fool with her exciting Boxer wiggles.  She enjoys going out for walks, hanging out back laying in the sun, playing with her squeaky toys, relaxing with a good bone, and LOVES going for car rides.  She does great at the vet, too.  Nikki gets excited when they make a fuss over her.  She is completely housetrained and does well being left alone in her home, no crate needed.  She is well mannered.  Nikki knows how to sit and give her paw.  She loves her treats and will come running when called for20them.

Nikki likes to be Queen Nikki and the boss of the house.  She would do best in a home as a only dog where she could keep all of the lovin' to herself.

Nikki's foster mom states, " Whoever gives Nikki her forever home is getting an even bigger gift in Nikki."

Nikki says: "I know I am a bit older, but don't let my age fool you, I still have a bit of puppy in me."

PLEASE offer to provide Nikki with a FURever home or even help her out and foster this WONDERFUL girl until she finds her new family.

Update - Nikki has settled in just like it's her home. She is a wonderful girl with her Boxer wiggles.

Nikki is not crated when I am gone and leaves no mess and is on good behavior. Nikki enjoys following me around the house and nudging her head into my hands to get extra petting. She does well allowing me to take any food, bones, or toys from her. Nikki hangs out with her resident doggie friends and even made her own spot on my bed with her buds. She enjoys sitting on the loveseat and watching out the bay window. Nikki has started to play with some squeaky toys and balls and really gets into throwing them around and playing.

She is a wonderful lady!

2/2/09 - Nikki

Meet our new sweetest senior, Nikki, who was dumped at a high kill shelter because her family was moving.  Nikki will go into a foster home where we will get to know her a little better.  She was a favorite with the staff at the shelter.  Nikki is a very happy girl who gave me kisses and boxer wiggles to let me know that she was glad to get out of the shelter because that is no place for a senior.  Please offer to adopt Nikki, she deserves to live out her life in the comfort of a forever home.

Prior to adoption:

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.

Adoptions Fee: Please see our adoption info by clicking on the link at the top of this page.
