Blitz, now 9 (AKA Diamond), and Daisy, now 6, are on their way back into rescue due to a divorce in their family.  Their new home has cats, and although Blitz is not doing badly with them, Daisy has not been tried with them and is currently in a kennel.  It would be great if they could stick together, but that's more than we could usually hope for when a pair comes into rescue.  If per chance you have a home and a heart big enough for two wonderful boxers, maybe you could be their "real" forever home!

Diamond came to his new foster home two weeks ago, and since then has made himself entirely at home. His new name is "Blitz" (as in "lightning") and he perks up to it and comes when called.

He's really motivated to learn with small pieces of sliced turkey, and he knows "sit" and "stay." He gets along well with my 5-year old female, Leah, who has been here almost a year now in her "forever home." He has his own bed next to Leah's, and at bedtime he settles down easily for the whole night. When he first arrived, he saw Leah sleeping in my reading chair. Now it's his favorite spot in my office. Leah gracefully deferred to him and got on a different chair instead.

He's friendly and loves getting attention. He's been playing with a few toys (always new for puppy-mill rescues), and likes to play tug with me. When he gets happy and wagging his tail, and his whole body too, he starts going vertical. It's hard to describe, but he actually goes straight up by a couple feet. Like I said, he's happy!

With the snow and ice, it's been difficult taking walks for the last month or so. But he handles well on leash, and comes with me out to the mailbox. I've tried walking both Blitz and Leah together, and they seem to do fine. He's a pleasant, friendly companion.

Every bit a diamond, but with a lightning personality!

Diamond, who is now referred to as BLITZEN, my Christmas Rescue. He is so unbelievably happy to be INSIDE of a warm & cozy home. He LOVES sleeping on the bed and sofa. It is so funny to see how quickly he adapted to life out of a rabbit hutch!! This guy is ridiculously sweet. Please do not be distracted by his "bad ear job" Blitazen has more love then he know what to do with!! He plays with his foster brother and sister so nicely, and he is really getting the hang of the potty training business!!! Please come and meet him. I bet you fall in love like I did :)

Meet Diamond...a deep fawn colored boxer with dark eyes and a lot of spirit for playing and running. He was recently surrendered by the puppy mill owner who is closing up shop due to the new PA state laws. He was surrendered along with his mate, Lucy recently.

He is very friendly and loves to jump up and down as if he had springs on his feet. He is a good leash walker and easy to befriend. Please consider foster or adopting this sweet boy!  He deserves a good life!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read our Adoption Procedure, by clicking on the link at the top of this page, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.

Adoptions Fee: Please see our adoption info by clicking on the link at the top of this page.
