Foster has been in foster with AABR for over a year now and he's more than ready for his forever home!  He needs a new foster home because his foster dad moved and isn't allowed to have pets.  BUMMER!

Foster LOVES to lay around all day while you are at work.  He is completely housebroken to the point where he doesn't mind waiting until you get home from work.  He will wait on the sofa for you....that is his favorite spot!  He really wants to be the only dog in the house.  He just wants a little peace and quiet and not a lot of rough housing.  He has a bit of trouble seeing so sometimes he gets timid.  If you are looking for an quiet guy who just wants to snuggle then this is the guy for you!

Update -Foster is a SUPER guy. He would love a home where him and Xena could live together.  He understands if they must separate and enjoys the company of others so has hope to go to a home with another dog. Foster is easy. He is out of the puppy stage and knows the proper play. He enjoys long walks, car rides and afternoon naps. The only thing foster doesn't do is curl up with a good book...  BUT if you curl up he will curl up along side of you. That's what Foster wants and that's what Foster deserves... someone to enjoy life with. Apply today for this SUPER guy we call Foster!

8/22/08 - Foster

Foster is Xena's buddy and brother. They were brought to our local shelter  after the family they lived with lost their home. They tried to take them back out of the shelter only to bring them back to their condemned home. A neighbor called authorities and animal control removed them again to the shelter. Foster was neutered and is now up to date on shots. Foster and Xena lived together for almost 7years, their whole lives. We will split this pair up if it means getting both into good loving homes faster than adopting them out as a pair.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the information on our Adoption Procedures, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.

Adoptions Fee: $300
