“Hope” now known as the couch potato Aura Aurora Sleeping Beauty as we call her is a very typical girl boxer. Like all females she can be bossy, independent, but still delicate and fastidious. Aura did not respect the basic commands and was extremely under weight when she came to rescue. This shows us no one took the time to commit to this little girl. She is in foster with trainer/volunteer and her family with 2 male boxers. Aura now knows sit, down, off, drop it, leave it and heel. She is very housebroken and crate trained. She is not left to free roam the house we use the crate when we are away from the home and for bed. Aura still has some light separation anxiety but who wouldn’t if dumped at a shelter. With the right committed home she will get over it. Aura needs a boxer savvy home. She loves our children but I would prefer she goes to a home with no children or teenagers as she has some greeting apprehension that may intimidate a child. She needs a home committed to continuing her training, this is a must! If given the chance like any untrained boxer she will try to take charge. She needs a home where rules will be set and she is expected to follow. All greeting must be supervised with Aura on her lead. Aura has not met a man in uniform she did not like really what girl doesn’t like a man in uniform! She seems to have a thing for the mailman, UPS man, gas man, REALLY! So, if you’re a man in uniform she will be in love! All policeman, fireman, mailman (really a dog that LIKES mailman) put in your application today for Aura she is a loving and sweet dog.

Hope is a 1 and a half yr old white hearing female boxer. She has  a docked tail and natural ears. Hope is a sweet boxer girl that was dumped at a local PA shelter when we didn't have a spot the day the home wanted her out.

Hope was a great family member until one day she made a mistake and jumped on a child and scratched him. Hope was use to living with 3 small boys. She went camping with them and was part of their family. You can only imagine what she felt like when they dropped her off at the local shelter. We tried to work with the family and offered to take her to a paid kennel to keep her safe but they didn't want that.  It was easier to take her to the pound.

Hope is spayed and will need a rabies shot next month which we will get her. She is now in foster with a trainer that has small kids and other dogs and will update us to the kind of home that will be best for her so we can get her that forever home this time.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the information on our Adoption Procedures, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.

Adoptions Fee: $300
