Uzi has definitely been enjoying the amenities of suburban life. Walking nicely on the leash, enjoying the sites, romping in the yard and playing with his foster sister daily. Uzi is a fine gentleman, very loving and just active enough without being too extravagant. He's earned the nickname Mr. Magoo because of his soft squishy face and his big expressive eyes. This handsome guy gets along great and plays well and patiently with our other dog. He's even learned to be aloof around the ferret. This handsome guy would love a forever family that would love and snuggle with him.

Uzi is still patiently waiting for his forever home (he'd love a foster home in the meantime)!

He recently had to change kennels due to holidays. The kennel staff was extremely sad to see him go. They reported that he is a great spirit, loves kids and an all around good guy. Loves men and women alike and would love anyone that took him in.

With a harness he walks well on the leash and they said he met other dogs on his walks and was totally fine. I brought Uzi to my apartment for one night until he goes to his new kennel and let me tell you, this is an easy dog. He is 100% housebroken, does not bark, and most unfamiliar to me- does not beg for food, not even one bit! He loved discovering the toys around my apt and is completely self entertaining. When you call him to you he is so excited for the attention! Wiggles and leans all around. Did I mention he also rides exceptionally well in the car?

So if you are looking for a dog thats out of the puppy training stage but still has the energy of a young pup, Uzi is your guy! He knows when to turn it on and off as he is just laying on the floor right now but was extremely energetic on our walk earlier. Lets give this guy the second chance at life that he so desperately deserves.

Uzi was surrendered to AABR due to circumstances beyond his control. His owner was heartbroken to see him go as he says this pup has a fabulous personality and is extremely affectionate.

Due to limited foster space right now this big boy is in a kennel. His owner reports him to be good with cats and was raised with birds. He is currently unknown with other dogs but would love to get into a foster home so we can learn more about him. If you have a fenced in yard for him to run in he would love that too as he grew up in NYC and doesn't even know the luxuries of suburban life! You can see how much he enjoyed a trip to Fire Island in the pictures. Please offer to foster this well mannered housebroken fellow so he can get a chance to show us that fabulous personality of his!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the information on our Adoption Procedures, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.

Adoptions Fee: $300
