Update -I took Buddy to the vet today. He got a test for HW and Lyme and tested negative for both! He weighed in at a healthy 80.1 lbs! Buddy was around my little neighbor girls (5 & 7) the other day and he did very well around them. He was not rough and just wanted to give them kisses. He plays VERY well with other dogs. The neighbor Lab comes over they LOVE to romp and play!!

He has SO much love to give....will you let him give it to you?

Since having Buddy in my home, he has been doing VERY well! He gets along great with my dog. He does great being crated at night and while I'm at work. He is housebroken, and knows how to sit, give paw, and speak. He LOVES to give kisses with his boxer tongue, and loves getting his belly rubbed! I think Buddy would do well in a home without a cat. He seems to do good on a leash and LOVES going for walks. When I get his harness out he gets very excited! He's a very curious dog and likes to explore. But if he does something he's not supposed to, I tell him no, and he stops. He also loves feeding time! Buddy has a LOT of energy, so he would do well with a fenced in yard. He is a real sweetheart and would be a GREAT addition to any fur loving family!

Here's some much better pics of Buddy.  He is a great boy who would fit nicely into most any family.

"How bout me!"

9/12/07 -

Hi My name is Buddy. I am 4 years old and I am a boxer/lab mix. I was living with an elderly lady who no longer could care for me. We have not been able to go for walks for quite some time, so now it appears that I need some exercise and to trim a few pounds off.  Would you like to take me for walks?

I am a very loving big boy. I can sit, shake and give you my paw. I am housebroken but not crate trained. " what's a crate?"  I just hung around the house all day and behaved myself.  I lived with another dog, she was a small breed mix and a very old gal and she never wanted to play. Sometimes when I was tied outside to the clothes line I would play with the neighbor dog. There was this cat who would come by every now and then but he never really wanted to play.

I would love a family to call my own. One that will love me, take good care of me and take me on some really nice walks. Did I mention that I give great kisses?

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the information on our Adoption Procedures, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.

Adoptions Fee: $300
