05/16/07 Needs Foster Home

Hampton's foster home has a prior commitment to pet sitting for a relative's male dog, and Hampton needs a new foster home.

Hampton is a big cuddle bug. He loves to give kisses. If you pat your chest he'll jump up ever so gently and plant kisses on your chin. He is great with children of all ages and small animals such as cats and hamsters.

He would do best in a home as an only dog, as it seems he has little socialization with other dogs.  This could change with proper training, but for now he will have to go solo.

He loves his treats and will shake with either paw and is patient to wait until you offer him the treat. He will need a fenced backyard to run and play. He walks very well on a leash and we have been working with him to heel. He does sit on command but would benefit from some additional obedience classes. He doesn't get on furniture unless invited. He sleeps on his own dog bed, but would love to share your bed with you if you allow him. He rides very well in the car and enjoys looking out at the sights. On a long drive he'll curl up and sleep, especially if he has had a busy visit. He's in good health and perfect weight for his age. He does like to play catch and will chase after a ball. Hampton is a great boy who deserves a great home

3/10/07 -

Hampton is a young 1-2 yr old flashy male boxer. He has natural ears and a docked tail. He is very sweet and did great in the car with Melanie on the drive from the shelter to our kennel. He is a handsome boy that needs a super home. Hampton was tied to the shelter door before the shelter opened in the morning. We have no information on him yet. The more we learn the more we will post.

Hopefully we can get him a foster home asap. He doesn't seem to like the cats at the shelter. We are unsure of other dogs at this time. He is stressed as any dog would be after being abandoned and tied to a strange door. He is neutered and will get his vaccines asap.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the information on our Adoption Procedures, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.
