Sparky continues to be a perfect house guest.  Sparky has put on weight and is a healthy 65 pounds of solid muscle. I really think Sparky would do best in a home with another dog(s).  Sparky is a very social boy who just loves to be around other animals who love to play as much as he does.  Sparky never gets tired of playing with his two boxer pals.  Especially if it is a game of chase in the mud and rain.  Sparky loves to run so you will need a fenced in yard to keep this boy happy.   Although Sparky is very strong, Sparky is a gentle giant that would much rather give kisses.  Sparky is a not a dominant dog and is happy doing what ever anyone else wants.  Sparky is very playful but when it is time to relax Sparky is just as happy sitting around or napping.   Sparky is just about as easy going and lovable as dogs come.  Sparky will be the perfect addition to any home as long as they are CALM leaders.  Sparky strives with lots of positive praise and would much rather be given praise over even a treat when he follows your commands.  You can teach Sparky anything very quickly as long as you keep the commands simple, and consistent.   Sparky is the hide and seek champion at our house.  Who ever adopts Sparky is getting a great dog!

05/19/07 - Now called Sparky by his Foster family

Just take one look at Sparky and you will fall in love with this dog! I have been pleading with Pat to adopt Sparky but we want to be able to help other foster dogs. Although Sparky is a young, high energy boxer he is very eager to please and learns very quickly. Sparky knows all basic commands (sit, down, wait, heal etc.).

I gave Sparky his first bath and while our 2 boxers ran in an attempt to hide when they noticed it was bath time; Sparky just hopped in the tube and let me get him looking white again. Of course all the dogs immediately rolled in any dirt they could find as soon as I let them out. Typical boxers!

We took Sparky to the vet for a check up and we are so proud to report that Sparky out shined the other dogs with his impeccable manners! Sparky got the pleasure of meeting a 4 month old puppy and Sparky was very gentle with the little girl. Sparky even remained sitting while a few cats passed by and never made a sound or any movements. It was so nice being able to sit back and relax while other owners were struggling to keep their dogs under control.

I thought I was going to have my hands full with another young boxer but Sparky has just become one of the pack. Sparky loves playing with Lola who shares his energy, while Sparky follows our 7 year old boxer around learning as much as he can from Johnny's sophisticated ways.

Sparky is going to make a great addition to any family. Until Sparky finds his forever home he is welcomed to stay with us as long as it takes.

04/11/07 -

Boo Boo is an  ~ 2 year old white male boxer. He is a high energy young boy who needs a home with an owner willing to provide him with lots of exercise. He walks very well on a leash. We have encountered many other dogs, birds, a rabbit and a few cats on our walks and Boo remains focused on walking properly on his leash. He plays great with our two boxers and loves to run and play chase much of the day. We have a 3 year old female and a 7 year old male to help keep Boo entertained. When they are not playing chase or running in the yard they enjoy a game of tug of war.

Boo, as with all boxers will need a home with a good pack leader. Sparky loves to go for rides in! the car.

This is our first foster dog and I am proud to say it is going great. We adopted two boxers from rescue and wanted to give back some of the happiness our dogs continue to give us; by becoming a foster home.

04/01/07 - Boo is now in a foster!  We will update you soon...

3/08/07 - Boo Boo

This is BOO BOO! He was lost and was picked up by animal control in the city. He was very dirty and hungry when we took him into AABR but now he has had a bubble bath and is eating like a champ!

He is ready for his foster home so we can learn more about him. He really is a happy boy despite all he has been through. Please offer to foster or adopt Boo Boo as he is a love bug who really just wants a warm bed, good food and tons of lovin!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the information on our Adoption Procedures, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.

Adoptions Fee: $300
