Sunday Update

Sunday is an absolute sweetheart.  I think she is older than 4 and so does my vet.  He thought she might be about 5 or 6.  She is completely housebroken.  She walks super on a lease.  We started to train her to the invisible fence and she is very quick to learn.   Tonight she was running all around the yard, which is great.   I cannot tell you enough how sweet she is.

When she first got here, she tested to see where she fit into the pack with my 2 males and myself.  With proper leadership, she has settled into some middle member.

She sleeps next to our bed at night and does great.  She is very attached to me.

Sammy - Update

Sammy is doing wonderful now that he is settled into his foster home!  He is one of the most obedient boxers I have ever been around. He knows his name very well and always comes when called and will sit, stay and lay down. He is wonderful on a leash. I didn't even realize that there was a boxer on the other end! He really tries hard to please.

He is awesome with other dogs. We are surrounded by dogs and he doesn't even bark at them. He has really fit right in to our home with no real issues. He is really good around other people and children but I'm unsure of cats. He seems to be housebroken, he had a little accident his first night here but once he learned the routine he picked right up on it. We are working on some kitchen manners as he likes to see what is on the countertops. But he is doing much better with that and is to the point that he will not even come in to the kitchen unless I invite him. He has the run of the house all day and night. I have not had any issues with that.

He is a handsome boxer boy with the most attractive little overbite and is just a love bug that wants to be where you are.  If you are looking for unconditional love this guy is the one. I can assure you he will be your best friend and try hard to never let you down!

Sammy & Sunday were turned in to the shelter because owners were moving to a place which didn't allow pets.

Sammy and Sunday are the cutest little duo I've ever met. They truly love each other. Each morning when I go in the kennel, you can't tell where one ends and the other begins. They are wrapped around each other so tightly. Sunday, who I have nicknamed Bunny, for obvious reasons is a tiny little thing with natural ears and tail. It looks like she's mixed with a rabbit, but her natural ears just stand up straight. She's such a doll. Sammy has cropped ears and tail, he's a doll too. Both are very friendly and wiggle all over, and very gentle. In the picture they are focused on 2 bisquits I'm holding in one hand. It would be a shame to separate these 2.

According to papers, she's about 4 and he's 7. A nice family with a fenced yard would be perfect for these lovebugs. They also have to promise not to move and leave them behind again. Both dogs are good with food, and that's being in a small area, and 2 bowls being set down.

Don't worry about adopting two dogs, think of it as a bonus. Besides, these are not big boxers.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the information on our Adoption Procedures, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.

Adoptions Fee: $300
