Another pool lovin Pup!

Lucky is such a good boy... He's been here too long and needs a family to play with and have fun.

He's a fun lovin guy!

Here are a couple of shots of Lucky.  He absolutely loves balls, and every time someone comes to visit him, he brings his toy up to the fence.  Then, when he's done greeting, he takes it away with him just in case they get the idea that they would like to take it home with them.

He's having a blast in the little pool.   Likes to stand in it, for a cooling off time.   The other dogs avoid the pool, but not Lucky, he loves to wade.

Do you have a bigger pool at your house, then he would love to come  and swim.

Our Lucky is still waiting for his forever home.

Part of our business is cremating pets....The other day a husband and wife brought their 14 yr old chocolate lab for us to care for.  Both were very upset and crying.   The husband walked over to the play yard where Lucky was standing by the fence.  Normally Lucky would have started barking.   This time he didn't.  Instead he went and found his ball and brought it over and dropped it by the fence in front of the man.   Then he went and got his squeeky barbell and brought that and dropped it by the guys feet.  Pretty soon, the man was smiling and talking to Lucky.   It was a nice moment, and shows what a caring boy Lucky is.   I think it shows that animals sense our feelings, and want to make us happy.

Hopefully, Lucky will find someone who he can make happy and will play with him

Here's a brand new picture of Lucky enjoying his new play area.

His favorite toy is the chewed up ball.

He brings it back for me to throw for him.  I feel very honored.

Lucky is such a nice dog, looking for that special family to call his own.

The kennel where we keep some of the dogs is owned by a 2 wonderful volunteers. They just completed a very large fenced in play area for our dogs to run and play. Lucky was the first rescue to test the area.

Update - Here's the new and improved Lucky. His face is all healed up, and he's packed on a few pounds. He's ready for Spring to kickoff his new exercise program. This picture is of him and his favorite spot. He hangs with Jim in the workshop, and always stands between his knees. I guess it makes him feel secure. He really loves Jim because he takes him places with him in the truck. Especially fond of going to the restaurant and getting a hotdog.

Everyone knows Lucky, he's a favorite with the lunch crowd. Added benefit, no one bothers Jim's truck with Lucky inside. If you're looking for a special friend/buddy to hang with, please consider our boy Lucky

Lucky is all healed up and doesn't he look handsome.   This guy is quite the ham.   I went in his pen with the camera, and he immediately sat and posed for his picture.

Lucky is getting pretty tired of kennel life, he's wanting a family to call his own.

Lucky needs a lot of exercise, he's always up for a nice long walk.  After he does his initial, "I'm so excited to be free" happy dance, he settles down and walks beautifully.

Lucky is healing nicely and is a wonderful boy.

10/27/06 - Lucky

This is Lucky who was very Lucky to be found in a neighboring town.  He'd been seen around town for about a month, just wandering.   He finally began coming to a friend's back porch, and she would feed him and he would leave.  She never could catch him, he'd always run.   He was very thin, and obviously injured. After a week of trying to trap him,  Jim finally got him.   He took him immediately to the vet, and she cleaned his wounds and neutered him.  He had all his shots, and he is recuperating nicely.

We've found him to be one of the sweetest dogs in the world.  He's gentle, and walks beautifully on the leash.   Jim has been walking him, and having him "hang" with him.  Lucky has learned to open the biscuit bucket and help himself to treats.  He's also learned to sit and shake.  He's not a barker, just really loves to be with people.

This boy deserves a warm loving home of his own.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the information on our Adoption Procedures, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.

Adoptions Fee: $300
