I took some pictures of  Dreyfus last week - at St. Matthews Park.  He is such a great dog but there are just too many on the website.  What is wrong with people?  People at the park stop me all of the time to inquire about the dogs while we are walking.

Here is the picture of Dreyfus just before he jumped in the pond.  He tried to paddle after the geese and besides, the leash wasn't long enough without me getting in there with him.  He is a sweet dog - I just love him.

Update -I have been taking Dreyfus out for daily walks and wanted to make some updates on his behalf. Since first meeting him he has been exceptionally friendly, obedient, and seems to know simple commands like "sit, down, and stay". He heels on leash as if he has been doing it that way his whole life. On some of our walks we have encountered other dogs, also on leash, and Dreyfus seems curious and friendly towards them. We even encountered a gaggle of geese at the pond by the park where we walk. Dreyfus was in "their" pond cooling off and the geese swam over to us honking at us. Dreyfus didn't even budge - he just wanted to continue his swim. He has been a wonderful companion and seems very willing to please. He is a big pup who is full of boxer wiggles and kisses. What he really needs and deserves is a "forever" home with a loving caregiver.

Dreyfus is such a lovebug! He was found as a stray, and turned into a shelter.

All he wants to do is to please you. He listens very well and he melts your heart with those big brown eyes. He is all wiggles when the kennel staff greets him in the morning. When I went to visit him in the kennel (in the kennel due to lack of foster homes) he was just as sweet as cotton candy! He just looked at me and begged to go home with me. He just wants to be loved and get into a home of his own.

He is good on the leash, housebroken and is good with other dogs. He loves to be petted and talked to for hours on end. He wants to be by your side and follow you wherever you go. He does not jump on you and bows down as if to say "please play with me"!

He will make a wonderful addition to a very lucky family. Please give Dreyfus a chance to have a home of his own. He will be your committed life long friend.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please first read the information on our Adoption Procedures, then fill out an online application.

Boxers and Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications are approved. On average, it takes between a week and 1 month to adopt a Rescue Boxer to an approved applicant, depending on your personal circumstances and flexibility.

Matching Boxers suitable for placement with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special needs, yours and theirs, increases the application review time and adoption time.

And yes, we realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you're approved.   Should your first choices all ready found their forever home, we want you to advise us as to other dogs you are interested in at Adoptions@AdoptABoxerRescue.com .  Or let us suggest a few that we feel will match your home.  That is what we are good at.   And be happy for the ones that have been placed... and know that there are way too many fantastic dogs waiting in their place.

Our non-profit organization is wholly comprised of hard-working volunteers whose only reward is seeing our wonderful Boxers placed in loving, permanent homes and given another chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion - a Boxer.

We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.

Adoptions Fee: $300
