11/20/05 - Her Foster home writes:

She came home with us and talked the whole way home.  She seemed very happy and sweet.  Once I pulled into my driveway, she got very nervous and did not want to get out of the car.  We sweet talked her out and her nervousness lasted maybe a whole 3 minutes.  She met Winston outside of our home and instantly she was calmed, and then very excited.  Winston is 12 1/2 years old, I've had him for just over 12 years, he is quite spoiled and majorly loved.  We were a bit concerned if he would accept her, but he did right away.  Winston is now handicapped in his back legs and gets around in a harness.  We are in the process of getting him some wheels so he can get around better.

Now that Surgarbaby is with us, I think he is really excited to move around more.   She, being a puppy was all fun and running and jumping, yet quickly she realized his handicap and was so gentle and sensitive to this.  They are getting along so wonderfully, and she is bringing out the youngster in my boy.  I had him out with his harness in the backyard and she wanted to play and he pretty much dragged me so he could keep up with her, it's great.

In the photo of the two of them Winston has taken over her new bed and lets her in his bed.  She is definitely housebroken, and will sit for a treat.  She doesn't know how to give her paw, but Winston was trying to teach her tonight that trick.  I was trying to get a good head shot of her, but she seems to be very camera shy and would run...I will work on this one.  My daughter set her crate up this afternoon and she RAN, she did not like it at all.  We only plan to put her in there when we have to leave them alone, which won't be until Thanksgiving for just a few hours.  She will go upstairs to our bedrooms, but will not go downstairs.
Overall, she is so sweet, gentle and affectionate to all of us, including Winston.  As you can see in the picture, she seems to be pretty wiped out from her first day home, and very content in her new bed (or should I say Winston's, and he in hers)

Thank you so much for having such a wonderful program to help save these fantastic dogs, and I would be more than happy to help out in any way that I can with Adopt A Boxer Rescue.

Sugarbaby is a fawn female under 1 year old. She was found walking down a suburban road. No collar and no tag.

When a nice lady picked her up she took Sugarbaby to her local shelter. A microchip was found. The family that registered her had given her away when she was a young puppy. I think the next family gave her away also. Then she was on the street. POOR PUPPY!!!!!

She is a nice, sweet little girl.

Sugarbaby is going to a foster home and we will update her page soon.
