Penny is now in a foster home and doing great. She is still trying to get along with her foster cat but is loving being in a home again. She loves going for walks and is enjoying her new large yard.

Penny is very well behaved and housebroken. If you are looking for a great dog to just hang out with you Penny is the one. Seniors are better!

Penny is still waiting for her special home.   She's such a sweet girl who is still missing her little buddy, Midget.
She loved him.
Penny would be best as an only child. She just wants all the love and attention. After spending time at a kill shelter, I don't think it's too much to ask.
Penny will make a FANTASTIC companion.

We are sad to write Midget died yesterday. He had some sort of stroke and died on the way to the vets office.  We also feel so bad for Penny who is now alone for the first time.

If you can take this girl into your home she will make a wonderful companion.

Penny and Midget are just the best team ever. Penny looks out for Midget and Midget is very happy to have her by his side. Penny is now spayed and Midget is neutered. They are in great health up to date on shots and ready to go. They are a super couple. They are very well behaved and housebroken.  Midget has the sweetest personality I have ever seen on a Chihuahua. Penny is a proud good looking cropped and docked flashy girl who could have been a show champ in her day. The owner that left her at the shelter said she was from a top show dog in CA. How sad it is that this show girl ends up without a home and in a shelter after 7 loyal years. A great volunteer of ours, Pam picked up Penny and Midget and brought them to the Scranton Times in Scranton on Monday for a photo shoot for a story they will be running in their Electric City magazine on our rescue. Penny and Midget along with Albert will be stars soon. The issue will run in 2-3 weeks. We need to get them into a home. They are sad in the kennel. Please open your homes to this super pair, they truly love each other and need to be together. You will never regret it. They will pay you back with lots of love and double the fun.

Penny and Midget are scheduled to be spayed and neutered on Friday.   I have to tell you these two are a hoot.  They are surely the canine odd couple.  Totally devoted to each other, and so full of fun.  I love how Midget stands underneath Penny as if he were part of her body.  It's too cute.   We let them out of the kennel to run around, and boy did they ever.

Absolutely friendly beyond words. The little guy is very friendly and loves to be picked up and held.   I can picture him with a little sombrero.   Penny is very petite, and has the wiggle and bean down to a science.   Whoever gets these two is in for a lot of fun around the house.

02/13/05 - Penny and Midget

Penny and Midget have been together their whole lives. We had a call from a PA shelter that this adorable couple were dumped at a shelter after their elderly owner relocated from CA to the Poconos. Her brother would not allow her to keep her dogs. They were put in separate kennels away from each other.

When our volunteer picked them up and had them reunited outside they were overjoyed to see each other. We could not leave him. Midget is a 9 yr. old Chihuahua. Penny is a 7yr old female boxer. Penny is very sweet and loves people. Midget is a typical little guy, very peppy and happy to have his buddy back. We would love to find them a home together since that's all they have known for 7 yrs.

They will both be spayed and neutered and up to date on shots. They are both housebroken and could not wait to get outside to do their business. I can't imagine how the poor lady must feel knowing she brought her dogs all the way from CA only to end up in a shelter.

Please help Penny and Midget stay together. Since they both lived with an older woman we would like kids over 10.
