I am sending some new pictures of Mugsy. They make him look more like boxer like, he also acts very boxer like. He is very very energetic and loves to bean and then bounce straight up when you get home. So he's got that down pretty good. He does like to tear around the back yard with Angel and will sometimes do a little playing tug with him as well.

Hope these bits of info and pictures can help find this great dog a forever home!

I took Mugsy and Aelish to the Pampered Paws on Saturday - a really big two year old Great Dane came in and both Boxers greeted him warmly without any aggression on either side. Mugsy continues to develop his relationships here. He likes to play and run around the yard with anyone willing to run with him. He play bows and invite barks and generally indicates that he is a happy boy who enjoys the other dogs' company. This great young boy needs a home where he can be a wonderful addition to the family.

01/06/05 - Mugsy

Mugsy was found wandering around East Haddem CT on 12/10 with a new leather collar and nothing else. The folks there called him "Magnificent Mugsy Malone" because he is such a charmer. He had no reservations about coming with me, taking a long ride in the car or making several stops along the way. He was well behaved with my 82 year old mother. He is likely around two years old, weighs 65#, Neutered, UTD on shots and Heartworm negative. He has natural ears and full tail. The ears have a more hound hang than boxer but still very boxer like.

Mugsy imight be a boxer hound mix.  Darker fawn, almost reddish in color with long hound legs, a dark black mask and the best Bean I've ever seen. He is always happy to see you and loves to be petted or otherwise loved. He has a good appetite and doesn't seem to be protective of his food when other dogs are around. He plays with toys to some extent, but not obsessively. If he wants to protect a toy or a carrot he will lay it between his front legs and cover it with his head. I've reached in and taken what ever he has without so much as a little growl.

He has met and is slightly curious about cats and guinea pigs but doesn't seem the least bit prey driven with regard to them. A gentle tug on the leash or call will divert his attention. With the other dogs here he is friendly but really isn't too sure about how to play - Angel is working on that aspect. He has shown an interest in playing with Angel but has learned to avoid Sassy who never learned to play nicely.

He was glad to meet my grandson so kids seem fine although I'd suggest older kids (10+) because he is very active.  A family with kids and a yard would be great for him. He isn't too good on the retrieve part of fetch but will get the idea with some practice. He does love to run around the yard, go for car rides and has yet to meet a stranger he doesn't like.
